To Jacks question from a former commercial fisherman. It depends on the type of fish you're after. Surface swimming/feeding fish are affected by light, tides, angle of sun etc. Deep sea fish couldn't care-the-less about day or night. They live in permanent night. A lot of the boats you're moored close too in this video are trawlers after midwater or bottom fish, so they don't are about day or night. But, many of the smaller boats there are after cuttlefish and they rise to the surface at night to hunt their prey. Which is what those lights are on the decks of the boats for. They attract the cuttle fish prey which attracts the cuttlefish.

@Jack, don't let it go to your head. Let your genius not be something you think about. Let your friendships with your older friends always cheer and inform you. Being multi-generational is not something normal for kids that are shipped into the educational system. You have my support young sir, love your journey and your family and its foibles. Also, it is difficult to have friends that are so much older, they are often stronger and more capable. Assure them, you are willing to figure out how to do it, being younger and less experienced. You have less failures than we old ones do. Do NOT let that intimidate you. Make them give you responsibility, dont listen to their 'conditions' for it. All hearts , and fairey winds~

Fabulous! What a great episode, I loved the sailing, it made me feel like I was there and the music was just superb, brought a tear to my eye. Wonderful to see Andy so happy, obviously completely in his element. Captain Jack, what can I say, there's a great future for him making ducumentaries and thanks for the clear and concise explanation to a landlubber like me of how a yacht uses to wind. I've had to watch it again, I love the sound of the sea against the hull and the feeling of movement. Can't wait for more of the same. Best wishes to Melissa, hang on in there!

Jack, to answer your question. During the nightime, the only fish you catch are the ones that are not in bed. They are usually back late from a swim and are having a munchie attack, thats why they bite. Hope this helps.

Planar sells package deals on hydronic heating and air heating systems. If you get both, you'll have hot air with both systems, plus hot water with the hydronic. The reason for adding the air only heater is that the hydronic heater can take 20 min to warm up the air. $2,000 Canadian for both heaters. I've been very pleased with mine.

Jack about your question, re fishing at night, really that depends on the fish and where you are fishing for them. But in general best times are dusk and dawn, change of light seems to turn the fish to feeding, at night there are more less desirable species like sharks and rays during the day can be very good in deeper water and at night in very shallow water. This is my experience here in New Zealand at least. So the answer is , It depends :).

Absolutely amazing scenery. Loved the soundtrack too. I bet a cuppa tea tastes so much nicer out on the water.
