As always the suggested game is Factorio, of course it is. Other PvP games might get Starcraft II, or Total Annihilation, or Supreme Commander, but man, these teching videos always get a Factorio tag.

thanks you for this, i was struggling with layout before and this 4x4, nano/3x3 metal maker/2x2 afus layout is amazing i will definitely going to use it in live games

Just remember that if used in a live game, a single Peewee or stray plasma shot sneaking through, will vaporise 40 minutes of effort in about 3 seconds. ^ ^; This video is fun for theoretical speed running, but you'll need a safer build for real game conditions.

​@@UnknownSquid technically you could use one tile gap between each segment. Theoretically this should not impact anything as it would be the same as this video but with a "1 tile gap" between all segments. Example going from left to right: 3x3 converter segment with 1 tile gap - line, then the next segment f.e. 4x4 nano.. I don t know how much this would influence the nano range tho.

Impressive. Greenfields used to be the gold standard for teching. Interesting that you pick arm, I guess for the initial wind?

Thanks, friend. I have a belief that ARM can do anything faster, fusion, AFUS, whatever, just the core generally does it better (more hp, better longterm value etc). Wind is needed for good RNG too I guess, its quite easy to get the fusion off the 400 energy income.

Is it worth transporting the nano's out and placing them somewhere else once everything around them is built? Move them out to the T3 factories. Or is it just easier to reclaim and then rebuild once you have such a huge economy.

Not sure if there's a command to set them down from transport in a grid - in my experience they get set down in random orientations, making them way less space-efficient 😕

Yea this eco only works if your front line actually is front line. No units in multiplayer gets you destroyed early, sitting in the back would be all great if your front line can do something. But every game everyone wanna sit in back and eco and go air... while the front line gets destroyed.

That's why this is a teching video and not a multiplayer game. It's like a mini-game. How to grow superfast from only 3 mexes, sorta like a speed run. It makes for a fun practice exercise, too.

Well this is a pure teching video. In a real game you need to know how to support your frontline while still outgrowing the enemy as well as when have i reached the point where the enemy can no longer counter my transition in time.

Easy to super-eco if not building defense/offense. Would like to see this in a game. I try a simpler approach: add at least 100 metal/sec income per 10 minutes up to the first 25/30 minutes. From there, eco becomes yes, more exponential. Nanos are only really useful for eco for a short while. From about 30 mins on, it's far more efficient (space and buildpower wise) to use advanced air cons. At that point nanos are better for factory assist, but it you have good AA and are space-limited, I go all air cons. In my average 45 minute game, I tend to get upwards of 900 metal/sec and piles of energy, and by an hour it's easily over 1200/1500.

Nice and all but this all depends on your team. If you were going that tight... one leak and your entire progress is done.

Mhm i think the hardest part is to transition from nanos to air construction. At some point the nanos wont be up for long enough to justify the time and space to build them and turn them down. Also construction aircrafts are great in a real game where you need to engage in fighting at some point.

Beyond all reason is much easier to tech compare to balance annihilation. BAR they have t2 being able to make afus compare to ba its only t2 vech cons and those things gets stuck. Good eco regardless but this isnt possible in a real game with 7 other players taking the space in BAR. I have only seen Adolf and cartouche winning with this style in ba with 3 mexes. I believe they did a 100 afus in 42 min.
