Delivered some of the Koi that the owners bought when I was in Japan.
They wanted some of the long fins.
The pond has suffered a UV blow out so the water isn't quite there just yet, around 90% there now.
There have been a couple of treatments in too.
Another one about to go in now.

I think I would have fish guards over the glass section just in case of any jumping out

Hi Tim, cracking ...loved the effect of those long fins when viewed through the glass windows ...in truth koi are not designed to be viewed from the side ..but from above as we well know ...so few body shapes/colours can pull it off from the side. But that combination in the pond now is absolutely lovely. Watched the video the other day of the unboxing of the koi from Japan earlier in the year ... i hope your back down to fighting weight dude as you'd piled on abit. Closed my pond down a couple weeks ago so going through that phase of suddenly wanting to watch loads of koi videos! Also have to organise a 20 tonne lorry to fill up the koi pond and move on. Be well dude

Sounds like they need a surge protection device on the consumer unit to protect the whole electrical system.

I absolutely love this pond. Them fish are just amazing. The only thing I would do is definitely get a fish gard around the glass as i would be devastated to come out and find one on the floor one morning. Other than that I love it 👊🐠🐟🐠

温度合わせはしても塩水浴や水合わせはしないんですね😅しかし、海外の池は濾過槽がハイテク、ガラスで横から見える池が多い、スケールがでかいのが多いですね!

Will he be putting some plants at the back of those rocks to break up the pearl neckless effect. Some short rushes etc would certainly not look out of place.

Nice. Are the ledges sloping to the bottom drain to help with debris settling? Any flow in the corners? 90s are notorious for low/no flow… “sweeps” are better. Rocks below the surface will over time collect debris and will need to be cleaned.
@MickRiley
@MickRiley Жыл бұрын
why the ledge? i see a koi using it for flashing! for me the water looks worrying and knocked back by treatments at the minute, I rarely have to leave my UV running all summer as i use a shade sail that maybe a good idea on this build as all that glass ond no above shade will make it a nightmare if left unshaded.

Hi Tim, that's a pond to die for! I have a pump fed system on my pond, do you have any advice or an opinion on the "retro fit bottom drain"? It's taken a few yrs to get my property sorted and now that it is, I'm told I'm not allowed to destroy the garden by revamping the pond to fit a bottom drain☹
