I love to see that you use new parts (if you have them in your stock) and when you are forced to use a "donor" (but you never interrupt your repair, so that we, your readers, are not left in suspense or intrigued or in doubt) . Excellent work. A sincere congratulations. Thank you very much for sharing. I learn a lot in each video. Thanks again sir. An affectionate greeting from Mexico.

Great videos as always. you are a master repairing this PS5. I got a question cause I have been struggle a lot desolding chip, I used to damage the pads. How much air flow and power do you use to desolding a chip also how much hot do you use in your solderin station.
@ToltecMerc10 ай бұрын
I normally use maximum airflow. The temperature will vary a little. I try to use around 400C for RAM, for HDMI encoders I will probably use more like 430C. For HDMI ports, it's max air flow and max heat, 500C.
@lestermoreno943710 ай бұрын
@@ToltecMerc thanks for the advice I dont like to give to much heat to the chips and board. By the way has you encouter witch a ps5 that crash in dashboard.

This has literally just happened to me, 6 months old so it's on its way back to Sony for repair

My ps5 started the one beep thing. I unplugged it and left it like that for about a month. Plugged it back in to troubleshoot and see how often I was getting the beeps but it turned on booted up and was in the middle of updating before it froze. I turned it off by pressing the button the signal to the TV went away but the light didn't turn off so I unplugged it and tried turning it back on. Back to one beep 😭. Any suggestions on where to start looking?

Will a long press bring the PS5 into safe-mode?
@ToltecMerc10 ай бұрын
If the console is at least somewhat functional. Just press and hold the power button until the second beep.
@KillaCowboy10 ай бұрын
I'm gonna attempt safe mode tomorrow, but it was back to one beep and not turning on.
@KillaCowboy10 ай бұрын
@@ToltecMerc so I just did this, it started up in safe mode, I updated it that went fine system started over regularly I signed in started up update some games and then after about ten minutes it froze light turned blue and went back to a black screen. Tried turning back on one beep. I think it may be overheating, but the fan is running and console is clean so I don't know.
@KillaCowboy10 ай бұрын
It seems like the system capacitors have to go completely dead before I can start it up regularly again. This is the second time it turned on since first week in December

I have a orignal ps4 with this same problem just wondering how much you charge for this kind of service if your willing to. And if so how would i get in contact with you? Also have a donor board for parts to fix the beep and no power, the donor board works but the i believe the cpu is not attached all the way so i know if works it boots and displays and can play games i would just really like the no power ps4 to be fixed so if your willing to just let me know how much this would cost thanks

It's quicker for me to check for shorts on the board. Since it was at least beeping, I had some idea of what the problem was.

Looks like a Chinese made one by the CR2032, the Japanese ones have Mitsubishi Matsuita CR2032 batteries, that one has the generic BASICELL with Chinese writing on it. Sadly they are all bad over all variations even Mage Micro Repair has already had a Slim in just a few months since release. I remember when the PS4 came out, the Chinese Foxconn ones were failing so bad on release, luckily I had the Japanese one but it did give me issues as well like crashes, the dreaded CE errors, even though the HDD was checked and came back clean so most likely hardware related, got rid of it in the end after 2 years and went back to Xbox. These AMD made consoles really have a lot of issues across the board since 2013. Be interesting with the PS5 Pro, probably the same setup as the old launch model with heatsink, it will be 4nm Zen 2 Die from TSMC so I have been told by Moore's Law is Dead.

I'm looking forward to seeing a slim. It probably won't be long.
