I absolutely adore this mold, I would love to get one and add a photo of my Mum & Dad to either side of the main trunk set in clear resin and then add smaller photos of my siblings and myself in other areas. Would need to cut some sections out after the resin is dry.

I mix black pigment in clear varnish. It adds the details and seals the colour with a beautiful shine too

Oh I love the colors! The subtle difference between the orange and the yellow actually looks really natural and wonderful. Also that purple really works! I would suggest that next time you do all the branches with the mica powder first because if you get a little brown into your leaves (even if they aren't autumn colors) it looks more natural than having the leaf color spill over into the trunk. A small detail, to be sure! You always do such amazing work.

I always do clear first then do silver gold or black on last layer so the colour doesn’t effect the shade of the leaves.

When you do the clear resin layer do you let it dry first and then do your last layer with silver or gold or black how does it look with silver and gold which I could see a picture. Have a wonderful day and a Happy New Year.

@@marykatherine9098 so first you paint the mold with mica powder colour choices. Then blow off remaining look mica then pour clear resin. But I don’t completely fill it. I then pour a colour choice on the back to disguise seeing through but that’s a personal choice. You don’t have to. And you pour the back colour when the resin is touch dry but not cured so you can still put a finger nail mark in the resin easily but it’s not too tacky.

Love this tree Julie. I bought this mould for my wife and we have made a few already. Just wondering though if you used mica powder or pigment powder in the trees you've made? We used mica powder for the trunk/ leaves and then poured over black mica resin. This did change the colour of the trunk and leaves. They still look great but not as expected. Any thoughts on why this might happen?
