From September 1993: As part of a special celebrating the 40th anniversary of WVEC-TV, we talk about the history of local legend Bungles the Clown and the man behind the makeup, Jerry Sandford.
Bungles the Clown ran on Channel 13 for 13 years, delighting kids in the Hampton Roads area and providing inspiration for future comedians including Norfolk native Bob Sagat.

Son of Bungles was in one of my classes at Syms. That boy suffered.

Oh my gosh! I watched this every single day. What a flood of memories I just had watching this. No wonder I've never been afraid of clowns. Bungles was THE clown. Also Bob Saget grew up in my neighborhood and he and my brother are still in touch. BTW I went to Larrymore Elementary from about '68 to '70.

I went on the bungles show ehen i was 6 years old, We were all sitting on bleachers while bungles would do tricks , we sang songs and all clapped on cue, And we would do the bungles wave before they went to a commercial, Sure would be nice to see that show reran in memory of bungles
