I have to agree, we stayed at the Views Monumental in Funchal, best breakfast we've had in Portugal ever, yet the coffee was not good! We was staying after in Cahleta after for a week in August and was raining ash for 3 or 4 days! Whilst we love it there, we was glad to travel to the Sao Miguel for the first time.

and I actually saw it in quite a few hotels on Madeira, that the coffee is somehow not that good :D. What I like is that Sao Miguel is still more about nature and the hiking trails are not that crowded..

@catchnemo do you know of any great coffee shops in Sao Miguel? I'm half Italian and can be fussy about coffee. I had decent coffee whilst investigating some rough looking bars on both islands 😆 being half English, I love the tea plantation on Sao Miguel and loved the pineapple and brain tea we brought back too! Free green and black tea for anyone that visits!!

Hello Noemi! What’s your overall vibe of Madeira? Is it as majestic as Sou Miguel? Is it worth checking out with limited time on a weekend… Or is going to the other Azorian island’s preferred on a limited time slot? Rock Hill😊

I think it is definitely worth checking the island out! But it gets much more crowded than Sao Miguel
