Anitra Gunn case: Demarcus Little takes the stand in his own defense

Demarcus Little took the stand in his own defense Tuesday morning, hoping to convince the jury he did not kill his girlfriend, Fort Valley State University student Anitra Gunn. He called Gunn his soulmate and said he would never kill her, but prosecutor Dawn Baskin challenged Little while he was on the stand. She read Anitra’s texts calling him ‘evil,’ ‘manipulative,’ and ‘narcissistic.’ Little responded that he was not a monster and the couple had good times too. Baskin repeatedly circled back to cached phone location evidence that suggested he killed Gunn, drove her car into the woods off Greer Road, and dumped her body.

When I saw the prosecutor's hair at the beginning, I knew this kid was in BIG trouble. He was used to manipulating an immature, scared, emotionally vulnerable young woman. The prosecutor was a full grown, emotionally mature, verbal, confident, experienced woman. He had no more chance of manipulating her than stopping a locomotive with one hand. Then she took him apart, piece by piece. Good work, Ms Baskin.

So you see we can teach them in their younger age this may help them to see the importance of knowing how relationships work and give them an open view to see what they maybe getting into. Narcissists get angry when you prove them wrong and when they sense they’re not having control over you like they want. In this case his control or power is thru his lies and manipulation tactics, like how he’s trying to appear to be actively listening like how he doesn’t blink and makes it deliberately apparent that he’s not looking away, they think that helps but it actually comes across unnatural and forced and arrogant.

They can’t stop him. They can strongly advise him not to testify and illustrate why but he’s the type to think he can talk himself out of the evidence against him and overrule the advice. The reality is he’s basically given the prosecutor opportunity to ram home to the jury that he was abusive towards Anitra, that he lies. Bringing in the phone evidence which he could only deny…so either the phone’s lying or you are, lol. I’m pretty sure the defence are silent because he brought this on himself. There are a few instances where the defence could have objected citing hearsay. All those “ how did Jayvon know….” questions. She was also presenting hypothetical questions which definitely should have been objected to. If he appeals it’ll be ineffectual assistance from counsel.

@@gapgirl321 l know. When she started the “ how does Jayvon know “ questions I was fully expecting to hear an objection. I don’t particularly know what it was Jayvon supposedly ‘knew’ but that’s the point. Those questions were for Jayvon to answer, the prosecutor could’ve phrased it better. I presume during Jayvon’s testimony he revealed he knew certain information known only to the killer and Demarcus had told him. Where was the defence then? They should have destroyed Jayvon’s evidence. Is he a liar? Can anyone testify that he’s lied in important situations before? At least make him seem unreliable, yet the prosecutor referred to his evidence like it was a known truth and so a rebuttal of his evidence didn’t happen, not to the extent it had any effect on the prosecutor…..there doesn’t seem to have been much of a defence at all from the Demarcus lawyers. Ps, I’m not defending Demarcus, he’s guilty as sin, a monster, it’s just the defence was a bit bamboozling
