Mizerak’s weight must have been a problem for him. So many players these days are slimming down and keeping fit. They know the pressures of the game extend beyond the mental. I guess they know more about the physical effects on the game now. If he hadn’t been such a glutton he might have lived quite a few more years to share even more of his amazing skills. Sad. RIP Steve.

I noticed Zuglan's grip on the cue is fairly light. It must help in developing a soft touch and aiding in perfect position. 14.1 players that have high runs, always control the speed of the object ball. Mike is also an excellent 3 cushion player.

Think Miz's weight HAD to be a factor. Read his bio...got up to 350+. Poor guy. I love to eat too, but you start to feel the sluggishness and dial it back. And I'm just referring to 10 lbs over. It's at strain on the heart.

What's that device @25:40 that that score keeper is holding?

It's the controller unit for the electronic scoreboard. It's a box with switches on it, connected to the board with a long cable.

Love the players..... but I get so tired of Bill Incardona polluting the game with his over analyzing, and depreciating comments of players way above his level....... He will be the ruin of Accu Stats.......

Is it common courtesy to have the person with one ball left on the table get the victory? Honest question, I’m primarily an 8 & 9 ball enthusiast. Thanks in advance!

With straight pool(14.1) it's a rule not common courtesy. If you watch the last ball is the break out ball. So essentially the rack is over when there's one ball left. That last ball is the start of the next rack.

@@philstilson4899 Thank you, Phil! I see some players just concede on the last shot in 8 or 9 ball and I always thought it was just a courtesy. Appreciate the knowledge!

@thegodofpez On 8 and 9 ball, this seems to be a practice that has become more common. While I understand you viewing it as a ‘courtesy’ it seems to be practiced mostly by players that are familiar with each other’s games, in a gesture to move the match along quicker. I have a different view on the practice. It has been for many years a common propriety in pool for the shooter at the table to expect his opponent to have no input into the game (unless of course a foul is committed) in terms of speaking, gestures or any other distraction to the player who ‘holds the table’. Most of the time I have seen this, it is usually between 2 players in agreement with this practice. However, I view it as a transgression of this rule of common courtesy, for several reasons. At the top of the list and certainly the most egregious is the sore loser who walks up to the table as you prepare to shoot the winning ball and consent by grabbing the ball and throwing it into the pocket. He wants to have the last word or action in the game, so he steals it from you. Secondly, there is a certain satisfaction with the winning player of shooting that last ball in the pocket, no matter how easy the shot may be. Again, this has been stolen by the loser controlling the table when it is not his turn at the table. Thirdly, there certainly are times when that ‘easy’ shot would be missed or perhaps a miscue would take place. We have all done it. You will notice if you ever watch the pro’s play in tournaments, the ref would frown upon the ‘seated’ player jumpIng up and conceding the game with an easy shot. They are more likely to allow it in the winning shot of the match. Anyway, not to beat a dead horse here, but I feel it to be a discourteous practice.
