A fluke of nearly 15 pounds is caught on this video! This is truly a fish of a lifetime and I feel fortunate to have witnessed and recorded the catch. This was our first ocean fluke (flounder) trip of the season, and we found plenty of life.

A friend brought a similar one up on a trip of Ucluelet, British Columbia. Never seen a guide so excited, and he pulls up halibut all day long. “Bonus fish! Bonus Fish!” Said he prefers flounder/sole to Hali’s. He’d never seen a flounder/sole that big before, made his day.

My biggest was 13.5 bleed, was out on a party boat striper fishing, super slow that day. I was bouncing a chunk of cut harring on the bottom, I didn't get to enjoy the fight much with my heavy striper rod. Shame was it was the heaviest fish in that boat that day and didn't count for the pool. I'll never forget the words out of the captains mouth, he was just above me and seen it first.

GREAT job guys, that was an amazing fish and awesome to see it happen on video. VERY cool. I've only seen one fluke caught that was bigger than that. My buddy Nick Petrou (aka Nicky The Greek & The Natural) and his son Nick Jr. landed a MONSTER 16.2 lb. fluke on August 26, 2005! They had it officially weighed at Bay Park Fishing Station in Long Island. I don't think I'll live to see a bigger fluke in person! Hello, wow that rod is a hot seller, already out of stock so I need to wait a bit to add it to the arsenal. Glad I found this channel, getting back into fishing after numerous years out of the sport. I just ordered the bucktail book, I remember fishing bucktails with my 86 year old Uncle who was my fishing mentor and a damn fine fisherman himself, always had great luck hooking up on stripers. I don't have a boat so its going to be partyboat fluking and seabass on the Nantucket Sound this summer, hopefully the rod will get back into stock soon, not sure what reel to match up with it, I see the baitcaster your using, great price, does it hold enough line for most jigging trips? Thanks
@JohnSkinnerFishing
