You came up in my feed today. Love the stuff you did to the boat. I will have to do some of them to my boat.

I love the simple mods and I'm looking to do something very similar w/ my 1st 14' alum boat myself. I actually am looking to move the back bench up a bit to get more of my weight to the center of the boat. Maybe 8 or 12". It's got solid rivets so I'll learn a bit about R&R'ing them. I'd like to add a couple seats like your front seat as well. Lights too. It's a used boat and I'm replacing the transom wood and fixing a crack in the lip of the transom w/Mat Gas & Alum. rods. Then I might put a floor in between the 3 benches. I was looking for Ideas and I really like what you did. Thanks for sharing. God bless.

Really like this setup. I’m looking to downsize to a similar rig.

Very nice and organized. How did you attach rod holders?

Thanks for the great ideas. Nice boat

Simple enough, two sided tape. Used a hard plastic "plywood" backing so it would stick better. Got the plastic from home depot. Two sided tape was cheap from Aliexpress just took awhile to get here.

Awesome setup!!! Do you know by chance, how many inches there’re between each of those bench seats? Reason I’m asking, I’m thinking of getting a Klamath 14 just like this…and my bait tank for minnows and threadfin shad has a 23. 3/4 by 23 3/4 foot print…and was gonna put it between the bench seats. Thanks….

That's an awesome setup! Simple, elegant and efficient. Btw, how do you mount the front deck to the boat? Do you use some rivet to fasten the deck to the Gunwall ?
@jonphillips69315 ай бұрын
Klamaths have a triangle shaped aluminum support. I put a a larger triangle made of plywood on top and bolted through it and also the rails.

Nice job with all the add ons. Your boat looks great! I also did some work on my 14 ft. aluminum Starcraft, 30 hp. electric start Johnson with hydrofoil fin, 3 padded swivel seats, marine radio, stereo radio/cd player with 4 speakers, bimini top, automatic bilge pump, flat, carpet covered floor, electric trolling motor, fish locator, depth finder, GPS, level floatation in seats, running lights, floor lights, spotlight, oars, just in case, rod holders, cup or bottle holders, top speed 30 miles per hour, (32 with tail wind) Had people remark that my boat is the best equipped 14 ft. on Lake Stclair. Trailer has side guides and non-skid walk out platform. No wet feet for me! LOL! I love this boat. I like your LED lights so I might replace mine with them. Thanks!

Awesome, you should do a little video showing your boat? I got a 14-foot boat, too.

Considering doing something like this. Great mods. How does that boat do in relatively shallow water (2+ ft)?

Sweet build. Did you brace the flooring or did you just lay the plywood directly down? Thank you!

Are you running 24v to that trolling motor? If so how you running everything off 2 batteries in series like that with no feed back issues? And if only using 12v does it still work good? I have a Minn kota maximum on a 14 and I’ve been debating on getting the terrova but I haven’t because I don’t have space for 2 batteries upfront yet
@jonphillips6931 Жыл бұрын
12v but my would recommend 24v for longer run time.

Nice tips and tricks man. I think I prefer this over covering the entire floor, flat like in a bass boat. Thanks for the inspiration.

Would a 5HP 4cycle Merc.O/B be sufficient to push the boat around the back bay?

Well done. Maybe relocate the batteries away from the fuel tank? Or is it okay there?

My garage is 19' × 7 1/2' would this boat and trailer fit or would the tongue be too long? Appreciate it. Trying to figure out what would fit.
@justinmalone864011 күн бұрын
It’ll fit! Breakaway tongue will give you a little bit more room. My garage is 20’6”. I have a foot to spare without a breakaway.

Do you get up on plane with the 15hp? And with more then just yourself? Do you happen to know top speed? I have a very similar boat and wondering if a 15hp is enough. Thx

I could get up to 22 mph by myself, 18 with a buddy
