Another big tip....avoid ATM machines in Casinos. Service fees are $9 per transaction, and if you're from outside the U.S., they increase the Exchange rate. I.E. - I'm from Canada, I withdrew $400 USD, the Service fee was $9 USD and the CDA/US standard exchange rate is about $1.30, Mandalay Bay charged $1.43. So a $400 USD withdrawal, which should've been around $520 CDN, turned into $588k CDN. Bring your USD with you before arriving in Vegas.

I haven't been to vegas, or the U.S, for years, but the entire thing just seems like a giant rip off from the moment you arrive. I think most people are happy to spend money, but no one wants to feel like they are being ripped off.

It’s not that bad if you just use your brain and common sense. I go to Vegas a couple times a year and I can easily keep it cheap just by planning ahead and knowing where to go and what to avoid. This video has good tips for newbies. But don’t think everything is a rip off in Vegas or the US. I’ve been to other countries and they all have their areas that can be a rip off, especially where tourists go but they can also be avoided there too.
@tb76672 жыл бұрын
@@jime19911 It's true it's not just vegas. The casino in my city also does things like not busting on 22 in BJ. But the problem though is I don't go to somewhere like vegas to spend the entire time worrying about money. I don't want to stay off the strip or have to leave the casino to buy a bottle of water. I think most people understand that they are going to spend a lot of money, it's the being ripped off that makes the place not what it once was.

Hey Jacob, my name is Shawn and I am a front desk agent in Reno. I watch both you and Norma from time to time and always enjoy them. I do want to reply to 18 Ways Las Vegas robs you. Specifically the one on rude staff at the restaurants and hotels. Although there is not an excuse to be rude to people, I gotta tell you my guests have been getting ruder and ruder over the last few years. They literally come in my front door looking to gripe about something that happened at the airport or 200 miles away and then pick my place apart. Those folks can be emotional vampires and wear you out until you really just want to be done with them. In addition I work my front desk alone with no support when before the pandemic there were three front desk people on my shift. That being said, we are getting worn out, again no excuse, but maybe put out a video for the tourists to be a little more kinder to the folks that are trying to help them have a good vacation. Anyway keep up the good work, and the Four Queens always treats me good. Planning a trip to there soon.
@1xgt2 жыл бұрын
You knew what you signed up for when you decided to get that job. If you didn’t want to deal with people and are too emotional to separate the objective job you have to do from the subjective and emotional turmoil that those type of jobs bring then don’t work there and get a better job. Simple. If you expect every visitor that comes through that door to be perfect and be nice at all times then you’re living in a false reality.

Everyone in the nation should boycott Las Vegas for one year. Demand the removal of all parking fees, extra charges and ripoff mini bar, room service charges. Reduce buffet, gift shop and show charges. Put the word out. Let Vegas pay. They make enough with wins from gambling. Plus. Put back real penny slots and better odds. No one needs to visit Vegas. No one. See what happens after this tourist stop action. Let the rip-offs in Vegas eat the sand there.

Very interesting about the hotels using signal blockers. I work on the strip, service is absolutely terrible
@purplepill20244 ай бұрын
7:35 - Nope. Signal blockers (or jammers) are illegal. No hotel is going to be caught dead using that. What hotels will do is construct their hotel with materials that naturally block cell signals (like concrete and metal). This is why when you're in the basement you get crappy reception - you're under about 1-2 feet of concrete/metal. This compounds when you're on the first floor of a 30-floor hotel. What's also not illegal is if they build their hotel in a certain shape that also naturally degrades cell signal.

In my opinion, resort fees will always be the biggest ripoff in Vegas. It is just a legal loophole that they found to allow them to lure you in with a false low price and then tack on a fee to get to the actual price. I always felt that resort fees should be included in the advertised room price or allow people to opt out of it.

Doesn't help we used to get $2 to the £1 in the late 2000s, now it is $1.1 to the £1 so it is crazy expensive for Brits to come to Vegas now with the exchange rate. Thanks for these kinds of video's. I am taking my youngest two boys to Vegas at the end of Sept. I am doing a lot more research then I did when I took my oldest in 2017 (tradition in our family, turn 21, go to Vegas). The time before that was 2003, and Vegas has changed so much.

It used to be you lost money in Vegas by going into a casino, now you lose money in Vegas just by going to Vegas lol

Big ripoff casinos, Station casinos. Station Casinos abandoned those that got them here. Stations was billed as the locals favorite. No more. They are the pariah of Las Vegas. Stations closed 3 casinos with plans to build 3 more, eliminated the buffet and almost all players perks they flaunted as why Stations was the locals favorite. No more. They abandoned us locals, we now go to South Point Hotel and Casino. More variety of restaruants, better quality food and they treat their players right. South Point even has a buffet.

Yeah I read that about the year downs. Sounds like they are getting hardcore. That Durango one being built looks to be targeting non locals. I wonder if The Palms will pick up the slack. San Manuel is pretty good when I lived in CA. Even they go pricey though. Been In L.V. for 1.2 years. 2 miles Northeast of Fremont Experience. I work in a nice garage. I se what people mean. I see the changes from over a year ago when I visited. IMO Vegas is in another flux. Hitting another stage. I think it's great overall but parts of it suck! LOL Have to look harder to find the deals around.

Room service liquor can be even more of a rip-off than the food. Bellagio's room service charges $160 for a 750ml bottle of Captain Morgan Rum, plus fees and taxes. That's 10 times what you would pay at a liquor store.

@Flint Ironstag - Good Grief! Anyone ordering "Room Service" expect to pay a high amount ... because visitors are too lazy to get items in advance.
