I like how this version adds that periodic "WOOT" sound to Tom Waits's magnificent song. Not only does it fit in perfectly with the song's rhythm, it also adds to the darkly industrial theme they were going for with that scene. It's the sort of noise you might expect to hear on a regular basis in a factory setting, like maybe to signal a shift ending, or perhaps a warning that some of their machinery is reaching an unsafe temperature and needs to be allowed to cool down.

I just remembered this song and came to listen to it, and suddenly I started creating an entire platform video game level in my head. Everything would take place in an industrial setting where you would have to move between gears, giant hammers and steam outlets that follow the beat of this song. The level would end when you reached a gigantic metal door that would slam shut at the same time the song ends. And yes, all of that came to me within the time frame of this song.

So you completely skipped the scene where fender is trying to escape and looses his legs? And where big welled is almost thrown into the furnace

It gets worse when you play the video game. Like the currency used in the game is messed up cause it's not specified on what the scrap came from, but considering the fact that scrap metal in the movie is usually depicted as bits and pieces of body parts. There's more to what I'm getting at, but all I'm saying is that once you start thinking about it, the ominous dark vibe from Robots becomes menacingly darker... But it's a movie where Obi-Wan Kenobi (Ewan McGregor) and Genie (Robin Williams) are in the same place at the same time and a few Star Wars references are made throughout the movie... So, I really don't have any complaints.

The dog arf really undercuts the spookiness of this song.

It's actually a Cuíca. It's a drum that makes what sounds like a monkey getting their tail stepped on. You can hear it from "Baldis Basics in Education and Learning."

@@Bakersboi13 finally! I've been hearing that sound everywhere and I never knew what it was called!
@apenasmaisumdiogo.71158 ай бұрын
I don't know, I think the cuíca really adds to the gloomy industrial motif of the song. It sounds like steam escaping from an overheated capsule, or old machinery needing oil.

You mean having one universal entity control everything so everyone is “equal “ mean while millions of people die yeahhh it sounds like they were fighting communism like that of the CCP but I go off I guess nerd
@Luan-st2gb2 жыл бұрын
@@NoNameTesla If you don't know what communism is you can just say it. You conveniently left out the part where the one entity controling it made repairs unafordable for the lower class and LITERALLY IN THIS SCENE WHERE THIS SONG PLAYS destroys the resources used by them to make repairs accessible.
