Hey Rusty - such excitement! Almost at the end of your trip, and 47 minutes into the video - and there it is! 18.3 grams of gold that had been waiting for you all these years! Great to see you had a good find! Loved the video! Thank you!

After 10 days of finding junk, it certainly was a nice feeling to finally find some gold! Ted finding gold, too, was great.

First time I've seen you on KZbin. Watched to the end and enjoyed the trip very much. Thanks for showing the "trials and tribulations" of prospecting. What a good mate is Ted, who was so nonchalant, like it's just another day on the red earth. The video editing, very professional. No over sensationalising, no loud music (thanks, it's about prospecting) made for easy listening and learning. I was amazed by the old mining history that you took time to film and share, thanks. Appreciated the real time tips on the wet campsite. Maybe it was karma that the rain showed where the creek bed runs. I don't often, but I did here, I subscribed. Looking forward to the next adventure.

Hi John, thankyou for taking the time to watch my video and thankyou for your kind words....they're very much appreciated. Thankyou for subscribing, too...I hope you enjoy my other videos. I enjoy getting out in the bush and finding junk is just part of prospecting....if it was easy, everyone would be out there doing it!! Ted is a great guy and very knowledgeable when it comes to bushcraft and prospecting....I always learn something from him. We have it easy, compared to how the old timers lived, and seeing their old camps is something I'm interested in, as well as the general history of gold mining way back then. Looking forward to going bush again, soon. The weather is starting to cool down so it won't be too much longer before we load up and head out.

I really enjoyed your video, thanyou and man you stuck at it after a week of tin and nails to get a bloody good result in your end time of your prospect. So thanks again and I just love your set up too because one day everyone may need this as our government's may go rogue. Take care I've subscribed.. well done!!

Hi Michael, I'm glad you're enjoying the videos. Yes, it was hard to keep enthused after going 10 days with only finding junk, but it sure makes the heart race when you dig up your first 'yellow rock'. I'm heading out again tomorrow, for 2 weeks, so fingers crossed I can find more gold and less junk....stay tuned for the video of this latest trip, coming soon.

Great result with the shiny stuff.👍👍 I'm sure it more than covered the entire trip's expenses. Also good catch on the leaking tank fitting. And even better that you were able to jerry-rigged a replacement. But wouldn't it be better if you positioned the outlet above the tank?🤔 The way you have it sitting (lower than the tank), makes it even more exposed and vulnerable to get hit.
@RustysOutbackAdventures2 жыл бұрын
Yes, I agree, the tank outlet fitting should not be lower than the tank. Once I get the correct fitting, I will make sure it's at least level with the tank.....good pick up!!
@fatmanoverlanding2 жыл бұрын
@Hammer Rocks Yeah I agree. Having the 90 degree bend above outlet would provide better protection.

Yep, it sure makes up for those trips when we come away empty handed....and I've certainly had a few of those. Being out in the bush is very therapeutic, as I'm sure you'll agree. From your avatar, I'd say you're a prospector, too.

How you find the Navara overall Rusty Must of been fairly reliable to still have all these years… looking at getting one just to do a few trips in.. obviously spend a little on it
@RustysOutbackAdventures2 жыл бұрын
I've had the Nav since new (Aug '11) and until recently, it hasn't missed a beat (other than the usual servicing and wear and tear issues). The oil cooler failed, allowing oil to get into the cooling system, which caused it to overheat before I could get it stopped. Ended up with a new engine, etc. so fingers crossed I get another 356,000kms out of it. If you check my other videos, you'll see the wellbody to tray and canopy conversion, as well as the GVM upgrade I did. I'm pretty happy with the Nav and I have it set up the way I want it, so it suits my needs very well.

Good to see you finding some gold, can you tell me what caravan Ted has it looks a perfect size
@RustysOutbackAdventures2 жыл бұрын
Hi Bill, I'm not sure of the make, but it's 10' long, but with the ends folded out (which contain a bed in each end), it measures approx. 15'. I'll ask him and get back to you.
@RustysOutbackAdventures2 жыл бұрын
Bill, the caravan that Ted has, is a 1977 Cabana, made by Sidchrome...hope this helps.

Why would you not travel with the battery tools it’s essential
@RustysOutbackAdventures10 ай бұрын
I always travel with them, even if I may not use them...to me, it's peace of mind. Even if I don't use them, they could come in handy helping someone else.

It should be a prerequisite to fill or plug drill holes since they can be traps for wildlife. Respect should not be contingent on land area since wildlife is ubiquitous and important to all life's vigour. It takes almost as much energy to digest that big hunk of meat as one would use out of That is a high% loss.
@RustysOutbackAdventures Жыл бұрын
All drill holes should be capped....or maybe they were originally, but over time the caps/plugs become dislodged.
