Great tips ! I went from daily washing to twice a week. I wash twice once with a good scalp wash and second for the actual hair. I use only hair towels (microfiber).

I brush my long hair before I wash it so I don’t have tangled- problem solved and I don’t run out of conditioner. I use the Aquis hair turbin. For styling, I use the Dyson AirWrap and set it with Kenra Volume spray 25. I stopped using olaplex products because my hair was falling out.

I heard people sometimes have problems with Olaplex. I always brush my hair before I get into the shower as well. Sadly, mine will still tangle if I don't use conditioner.

Have you tried The Perfect Haircare Towel and brush? They're wonderful! I gave into my curls a few years ago and these were one of the first things I purchased. I'm a licensed stylist and it's still been a learning experience. Their towel is less disruptive than Turbie Twists and larger. I also keep a Wet Brush in the shower to brush the conditioner through my hair, do the rest of my shower, and rinse out. Tangles don't stand a chance.

Your videos on hair changed my hair completely. I used to wash my hair everyday. When I retired I gave the 3 day wash routine a try. My hair is so much healthier it is amazing. I wished I had done it sooner! My scalp produces less oil that I have ever had in my life. After about 2 months I found I could go 4 days between washes using dry shampoo on the last 2 days. I have fine hair but not thin hair. Today is wash day so I am going to try the double conditioner method because the one problem I still have is frizz in the humid weather we have had this summer in my area. Thank you so much for everything you do to help others! ♥️

I retired in 2018 and immediately went from working to visiting a family member who was in a care facility at least once a week. It was a long commute and very emotionally draining. I was noticing hair loss for a while, particularly around the crown. I wanted to stop coloring my hair but dreaded the regrowth. My natural color is almost black and I was having it professionally colored once a month and also used the powders and touch up dyes in-between. My scalp was a mess! Even the salon assistant who washed my hair remarked that I was shedding a lot. I freaked out. Shortly after the start of the pandemic, our family member passed away and the lockdowns began. I was reeling with sadness (prayed a lot) and decided to stop coloring. Two and a half years later, my hair is thick, healthy with silver streaks that I love. I shampoo the root area and condition the lower half-my hair is long. I am not stating that dyeing is bad-some women can color their hair into their 80s but for me, it had an adverse effect. Thanks so much for you great videos Bobbi!

Your hair is beautiful Bobbie. I experienced hair loss because of Covid. I started using the Ordinary multi peptide serum and was surprised how quickly it started working. Another tip is to put your conditioner before your wash and wrap it up or put shower cap. Warm it up with hair drier and shampoo after. No need to use the conditioner after because your hair will not be tangled. I use few drops of the hyaluronic acid and put it on my ends. The best hydration and conditioning and it doesn’t make your hair limp.

My stylist recommended concentrating on shampooing the roots, running shampoo through to ends to not dry them out and no conditioner on roots as that can cause build up. I use a clarifying shampoo every 2 weeks for any product build up. But if this works for you, that's what you should do. Everyone's needs are different and you have beautiful hair!
@MindfulMidlife2 жыл бұрын
I agree, all our needs and hair is so very different. I also use a clarifying shampoo a couple times a month. Which is your favorite? I use one off of Amazon that's pretty affordable.

I have curly hair. I wash my hair once a week. After wash/condition I use a microfibre turban or a cotton t-shirt. I don't leave it wrapped for long because my hair is soooooo thin (thanks thyroid and menopause - REALLY appreciate it). Also I use a leave in conditioner so I need my hair to be wet for that, and after applying that I brush the sides and the back of my hair straight out to the side. The hair on the top of my head gets brushed upwards. This helps give volume. I then apply hair peptides and volume booster at the roots. Sometimes I use a curl enhancing mousse and then when my hair is almost dry I use a hair oil to seal everything in and break the cast. You struggle with frizz Bobbi because your hair is naturally curly. A leave in conditioner could help with that but it might not eliminate fully because you're styling against your natural wave.

Whenever I use a leave-in conditioner my hair is flat and lifeless. I've tried a few. Which one do you like?
@bluecurlygirl2 жыл бұрын
@@MindfulMidlife The one I'm using at the minute is Shea moisture silicone free leave-in. The squirty bottle annoys me. Squirts tiny amounts. However, it is light and it doesn't weigh my hair down at all. Little tip when applying leave in - wrap your index finger and thumb around the section of hair you're applying conditioner to. Not too tight but slide it down the length. Now, the size of the circle your finger and thumb make is the amount of conditioner needed for that section. I had another leave in from curlsmith. Weightless air drying cream. I really loved that. I definitely prefer the curlsmith but would recommend either.

I use Colleen Rothschild hair serum before I ever run a wet comb through, starting at the bottom. Oil makes my hair flat and with my baby fine hair, I don’t need that. I have to use a root lift also. I haven’t tried the 2 condition method, but I always wash twice. I’m going to try a second condition of my ends.

I would never wash my hair twice. I have dry scalp and I do not use hair products. I think all this stuff we are putting in our hair is causing a lot of hair issues including hair loss. Our hair naturally goes through loss and growth cycles. I believe that it is more about what we put in our bodies than what we put on the outside. Not great for the beauty product industry but better for us. Just my thoughts. Also, an extra large tee shirt is great to use for your wet hair. Everyone has one so you are not throwing money to a specialty product. You can put it on any way you like, hair going g forward or back.
@MindfulMidlife2 жыл бұрын
It's a good thing you don't with a dry scalp. I've never had that issue, but I am sure you have to be very careful. I used a t-shirt when I tried going curly and you are right...it works great Linda!

Actually dermatologists will tell you wash the scalp thoroughly. When you rinse the head, the shampoo will “wash” the hair as the shampoo runs off. This keeps the hair from drying out and keeps the scalp free from sebum build up. Healthy scalp. Healthy hair.

Hi Bobbie, What great tips ! Last year I started using the Turbie Twist, and will change how I put it on now, ingenious ! What did it take me so long to discover this product ! My whole life using a bath towel and twisting it on my hair ! 😩🤣 I also recently got a wet brush, but still seems like I’m pulling out too much hair, and I’ll be checking out the Verb Ghost spray for sure. I switched to a sulfate free shampoo, last year also, and can tell the difference in my color staying nice. I do go 3 or more days between shampooing, by the 4th day it needs it, but if I’m not going out, I have gone up to 5. Your hair looks super healthy, and love the lift you get with the Eva nyc product. I can never seem to get a lift that stays. Years ago I used a root lifter, I think Paul Mitchell ? 🤔 Anyway it worked, but that was when my hair was oily, now it’s dry/normal, so hesitant to use anything with too much alcohol. Thanks again, I appreciate you advice ! ☺️☺️

@lorainemcgillivray772 жыл бұрын
There are so many shampoos and conditioners on the market and they are targeting different things. The main thing to look for is something that suits the type of hair you have - fine hair needs something different than course hair for instance. Most sulphate free shampoos should be fine for colour treated hair and gentle formulations work for most people. As a general rule shampoos that are clear are better for oilier hair and thick creamy shampoos are often better for drier hair. Same with conditioners - lightweight conditioners work better for fine or oily hair and thick buttery formulations for course textured and dry hair. Leave in conditioners in a thin watery spray formulation are often better tolerated by fine hair than thick creams. I have course textured curly hair and need maximum moisture from my products, so I use a lot of richer textures that might make fine hair feel weighed down and limp - I need that weighing down and taming. I hope that helps.
@MindfulMidlife2 жыл бұрын
I agree with Loraine. Thanks Lorraine for spelling it out. I really like Verb Shampoo and Conditioner. They have a line for fine hair (Ghost). I have fine hair that's wavy and I have a lot of it so I don't want to weigh it down. The Verb works good, but I do try different ones all the time.
