I like the locking feature. I can mount it on an ergonomic angle that way and not have it always sliding forward when not in use. Thanks!

Thanks for the recommendation! Which wood thickness did you use? I seem like 1” is shown on manual example. Any details of experimentations is appreciated.

Can you help answer a question? My desk is 67"x31". I need to install a shelf that can do two things. The playing position is 11.5" past the front of the desk. Due to my knee, I need to slide the 54" x 12" shelf to where the front of the shelf is 23" back from the front of desk. It seems simple enough except nobody I have reached out to understands how to do it. My question is how best to make it work. The keyboard weight is only 44 lbs. In my mind I get the long 12" deep shelf I need the right slide to move it to the front edge, and then push the front of the shelf back 23". Kind of anywaybut should I have separate rails to bring it out 12" to a playing position? All thoughts and ideas appreciated.

Sorry Bill but I don't quite understand exactly what you are trying to do with the shelf doing two things. What do you mean by "the front of the shelf is 23" back from the front of desk"? It may be simple but your explanation is not clear to me.

Hi Dale. What do the measurements refer to? (12”, 18”, etc). My reason for asking is that I need to mount a slide out tray for a MIDI keyboard (Native Instruments S61 mk 2) that’s 39.6” x 11.7” x 3.3” (1006mm x 297mm x 84mm (L x D x H)). Thanks very much in advance.
@dcppcp2 жыл бұрын
Hi Nick. I think it should work out for you if I understand you correctly. The width of 39.6 is however wide you make the shelf. The 11.7 is also going to work fine because again you cut your shelf to work out however deep you need it. The one minor issue might be the 3.3 inch height clearance. The existing brackets as is will be close to this however it is so easy to fix IF you need additional clearance by simply adding a spacer underneath the desktop that basically will drop the shelf lower. The one part you will want to confirm that works for you is how far the shelf bracket actually extends when pulled fully out to make sure it exposes all the keys and controls of your keyboard adequately. That is where the 14inch comes in. Based on a separate video review for this product by a guy using it for a midi keyboard I think you will be fine. Look at the other video review www.amazon.com/gp/customer-reviews/R2ER1MS58I8ZAU?ref=va_cr_lb for this product and you will see how his came out.

@@dcppcp Hi Dale, thanks so much for taking the time to help me out with this. I just ordered my set which should arrive some time next week. Can't wait to try it out! Thanks again for sharing that very useful video! A super cost effective alternative to one of those very expensive music desks. 😀

Stupid question...can these slides be separated? They must be for ease of install, but darned if I could get them apart.

Great question! I never separated it before. I did a quick search so I hope maybe this gives you some insight on these. kzbin.info/www/bejne/bmbYmXyreaaSg5o kzbin.info/www/bejne/bHrZaXxpgtJ8eLs

@@dcppcp Yea, these don't separate it appears. I have 3 sets of these, and I put 2 on my office desks (work area, play area), and when I moved one to my son's desk I was "HOW the F did I put these on". LOL.

I'm trying to remove one but the support pillars are inward so it's a tight space to take off the screws at the front .. the back ones are ok because they're clear when you pull the tray out but the front ones are constantly blocked .. how do I take those out ? I'm assuming by taking the tray off the rails? but how do I do that ?
@dalecoffing62355 жыл бұрын
It sounds to me like you installed the brackets incorrectly? Unscrew them and flip them around so the screw holes are accessible outside of the rails so the keyboard won't block it. Look at the video at the :30 second mark and see if your brackets are turned to the outside of the rail like I am showing.

I only have about 12in of depth underneath my standing desk before i hit the electrical black panel. Think I have enough room for this?
@dcppcp4 жыл бұрын
Mine is similar and it fits fine because the brackets attached directly in front of my black panel which is 12 inches back from the front of my desk as well. It will depend on how thick the black panel is. The actual drawer slides 3inches below the underside of the desktop so the drawer fits under my black tray which is 1-1/2inches thick below my desktop. See the :30 second mark of the video for more info.

Can you install it inverted? I'm trying to mount something on the back wall and planning to hold the keyboard rail on top of a bracket instead of under the desk because my desk has a drawers and a thin base.

I use Windows 10. It's great if you like touch pad use. Personally there are times the mouse interface works better for accuracy of input and multiple button use but for day to day general use the touch pad is great.

Could you share the wood plate size you installed on it?
@dalecoffing62355 жыл бұрын
You can make it almost any size you want based on where you are mounting it. I made mine super wide. MIne is 30 inches x 12 inches but I wish I had made it 30x14 because of the way I use it now.
@DGP4063 жыл бұрын
did you also glue the slide on the tabletop?
@dcppcp3 жыл бұрын
No glue was used on the slide. The slide bracket was secured by wood screws to the desktop. The front piece was scrap wood left over when I cut down the tabletop and I nail gun and glued it to the front of the plywood shelf so I could get perfect matching with the tabletop and keyboard drawer. And I made sure to make the height of the front piece big enough to drop that front matching piece about 1/2 inch below the plywood shelf so that I had an easy pull grip for pulling the drawer out and 1/2 inch above the shelf to keep the keyboard, mouse, papers, etc. from rolling off the shelf.

I need about 3.5” inches of clearance under the desk for my midi board. Your mouse looks pretty tall. Will I have space? And do you believe it can hold a keyboard that weighs about 10 pounds
@dcppcp3 жыл бұрын
It can hold 10 pounds. I have just over 3-1/4in clearance from the desk. You could easily expand that however by just mounting a spacer between the desktop and the bracket to get you 3-1/2inches.

Hey Dale, hope you see this soon. I’m waiting to mount my desk top to my sit/stand legs leaving ~15” in front from the crossbar underneath for a 14” keyboard tray. Is that one inch enough space or should I leave a little more. Don’t want the front:back desk ratio relative to the stand too be too unbalanced, but would love to construct a wide tray like yours to fit/store a couple keyboards/mice. Love the front accent you’ve attached. What material for the tray surface did you use? I wanted to avoid woods as I don’t have a large enough off cut from making my top a custom size. May order the slider before I make the final mount.
@dcppcp4 жыл бұрын
I think I understand what you concerned about. Don't worry about the crossbar. The keyboard slide is adjustable and easily clears my 1-3/4" thick crossbar underneath. The top of my keyboard tray is 3-1/4" below the bottom of the desktop so there was plenty of room for my keyboard to pass underneath the crossbar. So I would feel good about placing the desktop on top the legs so they look good and stable. The front accent was made from the spare material of the dark walnut wood desktop so that it matched perfectly. The keyboard tray itself I made with high-quality 5/8" plywood.
@UbirajaraMoraes4 жыл бұрын
How did you do the front piece? It really looks like the tabletop.. I also have a standing desk and my table top is the Ikea Karlby Oak. What would you suggest for the front piece? Another thing, my top is a bit narrow and I only have 10in from the crossbar to the side so not sure if it would be a problem.. I know the height is adjustable, so counting on that. Would like to hear your comments. Thanks.
@dcppcp4 жыл бұрын
Good eyes. Yes, the front piece was a scrap wood left over when I cut down the tabletop and I nail gun and glued it to the front of the plywood shelf so I could get perfect matching with the tabletop and keyboard drawer. I think I understand correctly about your narrow desktop issue. I measured my keyboard bracket and it measures exactly 10inches from the mounting bracket to the front. So I think mounting it isn't an issue but not ideal because once you add the matching front piece that will extend just slightly past the front edge of the tabletop. So if you don't make that matching front piece too thick I believe it would work fine for you.
