This baby was disciplined since she understands words. Her first time out experience was at age of 10month. Look what's happening in this video. Start early and Be consistent!

They are actually pretty smart at 18 months. I'm sure given thought you can think of many instances where your 18 month olds cleverness was surprising. I doubt if first few time outs will be accepted this calmly.

Um. Putting her in time out for .00001 milliseconds is not going to teach her sh*t. If that's the punishment, she has no incentive to refrain from doing wth she wants. Look how huge of a mess she made! She showed absolutely no remorse, and refused to pick anything up. But, instead, she started throwing more utensils around the room when she should have been afraid of getting in trouble. Clearly, she gets away with this kind of stuff all the time or she wouldn't have been so disrespectful. Plus she wasn't at all nervous about getting in trouble and why would she be?
@treywebster1918
@treywebster1918 3 жыл бұрын
Also why was a baby that young left with no supervision long enough to make such a mess... obviously you didn't even hear her bc all those utensils on the floor would have made a huge noise. She could've really hurt herself in a kitchen unsupervised with sharp, dangerous instruments!! BAD BAD BAD PARENTING. Anyone who says otherwise must be delusional.

The fact she made that mess means she wasn't being watched or given attention , this is the guardians fault and the fact she didn't think it was wrong to continue to throw things means she's used to getting what she wants , and that she didn't complain about time out cause she knew she wouldn't be there long, and that u would give in quickly , because she is in fact a very adorable baby .

So that's how you correct a child in your culture ? Asking him if he wants to be punished like "do you want to go time out ?". It's very surprising, she doesn't seem to understand she's actually being corrected.

They're butter knives people, not sharp pearing knives or steak knives! They are more dull than a fork, so those of you throwing stones in your glass houses, better take all the forks out before it shatters! I have come to the realization that no matter what you do in life, no matter how good you are, no matter the circumstance, that they're will always be condescending pricks in this world that are always and only negative. Never a good word to say about anyone or anything. Those people are so miserable with their own lives and ashamed for their own wrong doing, that they try to find any wrong they can in others. You should stop doing and try to love other instead, your life would be much better and more blessed! Before any of you narrow minded people try to find a mistake with me or my comment, don't waste your time because i make mistakes all the time, daily to be exact. No one on this earth is perfect, not even close.

Good grief, children that age are too young for time out, even if you have trained them to go to the naughty mat. Children have to be old enough to understand consequences and a child that age, doesn't. Instead of relying on a naughty mat, learn to be patient and know that these are babies who have to be taught about the world around them. Putting them in a corner doesn't teach them anything. I hate the idea of putting kids in a corner. It isolates them from the family, even if it's just for a few minutes. Oh, sure, when a child is older, they will relent because they want to please the parents and make sure they still love them. There are other, emotionally healthier ways to effectively discipline children.

You’re 100% wrong. I started with my first born at 12 months. Pediatrician approved. You do 1 minute for each year of their life. So she went in for 1 minute at 1, 2 minutes at 2. It only took 3 times for her to understand, and her getting into the dogs water bowl, and garbage can completely stopped. She’s 7 now, and survived just fine. Now I have another who’s 13 months, so she’s next.

I meant children at that age develop self worth according to how the adult in their life perceive them! The best gift an educated responsible parent can give their child is to built their self confidence,it will help in all sectors of life Education, Marriage, Work but if the child at an early age develops and understanding it is failing that stays with it for life ,that is why psychiatrist always look to those first years. Discipline can come about through patience and teaching with encouragement,the child then trusts the adult later and does not breed resentment most parents do not understand in later years because it is suffering from anxieties from being demeaned for being a child! Not even the child itself can pinpoint the scource of why it is not that fond of it's parents ,has failed marriages,is bullied in the office or cannot advance.This ofcourse is a generalisation as each child grows in a completely unique environment than others and many other factors come into play too. But discipline needs to be about the child and not because the parent does not want or know how to parent(verb)!
