I don’t think she knew she could. Therapy etc. was more taboo even 10-15 years ago. I think she genuinely believed she was just bad. Her work with Jo showed she WANTS to change. It's expensive, she's a 9th and 11th grade English teacher, so she would get most of the summer off. My son is 19, I had 6 weeks of leave, you could use your vacation or sick time, otherwise unpaid. Now your job is protected for up to 12 weeks.. also, you can apply for paid family and medical leave..almost everyone in the country has to pay out of their paychecks even if you would never qualify to collect it. .. but I digress, lol.

Infant care under 2 is about $500 per week where I live. After 2, it's not that different $350-450. Depends on the kind of daycare and how long the hours are.
