@Christina Anderson that,s good that you,re learning. I have been in several of those types also. They recognize, after they have gotten your trust, that you can be manipulated and hurt. And boy, does it hurt. If someone in your family has done this, you will subconsciously seek out people like them because they make you feel comfortable. But when you think you really like them, they gaslight you and are relentless that you believe that everything that went wrong was ENTIRELY YOUR FAULT!!! it,s very hard to not look for these relationships and be sucked into this inevitable hell again. One time I had two people that used me _ a boyfriend and the older woman that introduced us and then worked together to break us up. Sick. And I mean all three of us.

@@catzska yea I agree with you. I once thought they didn’t know but you have to plan to manipulate someone because you are trying to get something from someone, just like premeditated murder is no accident. It was planned. I think everyone manipulates a little. But to ouright just do it and not even care about hurting people and especially when you call them on it, they freak out or yell. Then they either bring up old things that you can barely remember (bpd family mber did this to me yesterday )and/or they actually project everything that they do onto you. They accuse you of doing the gas lighting etc stuff they do to you, now you are bad and they are "victims".

@@jacobsabrina74 There's nothing good about MANIPULATING someone or being a manipulator, so when a person has manipulated someone... Trust me, they literally don't care & won't care about hurting that person. Good intentions & manipulating can never mix, & a manipulator is never remorseful. If they can get away with it once, they'll continue to do it.

I agree. However, us normies have a choice. The beautiful have been taught (often by the normies) that we will often do anything to bask in their presence. They have been taught they only have to show up to receive benefits & privileges. They do not have to make any kind of effort. I think this is a case of biology. Men will do most anything to be with an attractive woman. Women will make themselves available to be with an attractive man. Attraction can not be negotiated.

Has anyone experienced someone baiting you into sharing your pain or a struggle, then they pity you (eg. that must be so hard for you) Then they abruptly change the topic to something superficial like something they bought recently or a new haircut? It’s very subtle but I’m guessing it must be common. It seems like they are getting off on others pain?

I dunno what type of personality I have, but I've never felt that feeling as an adult. Being an adult male, I can't comprehend that notion in myself because I tend to get more physical if someone tries to exert power over me in a situation. Not saying I put my hands on those people, but my body language begins to shift at that point and a bit of aggression starts to come out. Id say the reason for that is because id never do anything of that nature to anyone that didn't deserve it, so the fact someone's trying it on me when I'm minding my business will be the reason im so quick "check" that person if you will. I feel for people who have to deal with these kinda people tho.

Thank you for this video. I recently realized how manipulative my cousin is. Long story short, after years of months going by with periods of ghosting, she only contacts me when it’s convenient for her. If I call her, it’s been up to 4 months for her to return my call. (There’s much more to the story..) I have no doubt she’d gaslight me and play the victim, if I expressed my resentment of her behavior towards me. She made plans with me last week and never showed up or contacted me. I tried to call her, she sent it to voicemail... So, I changed my phone number, and I’m going no contact with her. ... I think No contact is best, when dealing with ppl who have these types of narcissistic traits. I don’t need or want the drama and upset in my life...And yes, she makes fun of me too, and says she’s, “only joking” ... I’m sooo done it’s hurtful and infuriating... I think it would be also very important to mention that all people are guilty of some of these traits, depending on circumstances, state, health, situation, genetic/parental influence, environment etc. So it's all not really just black & white. Because of this, judging someone and labelling them automatically as a manipulator/psychically ill because they did these things at some points to some people can be very unjust. Self-justification, ignorance, biases, fallacies are common in all of us, nobody is resistant to them. If something sounds logic in one case at some point, it doesn't necessarily mean that it's entirely true or reasonable always. Negative emotions can make us easily forget about the good ones. I was very wrong in many things, and I still make mistakes. So the priority should be I think rather not to avoid, but first at the very least try to make another person be aware of how their actions make us feel, without playing the victim, blaming, criticising and comparing to others (this can be really difficult and I know this from experience, still learning how to do it properly BTW). Many people are not always immediately aware how their actions can affect others. If they don't accept our point of view/feelings, don't understand it and make it clear that they don't see any reason to change their behaviour (because f.e. "I am right, and you are wrong/sick etc."), then and only then - when most hope is lost - I would consider avoiding.

Nicely laid out list of tactics. The manipulator being described here is clinically referred to as a Narcissist. They often live in a fantasy world of their own amazingness and they use people as supply to bolster their own sense of entitlement and grandiosity. There are studies available on these people and their tactics. It's surprisingly easy to get caught up with these kinds of manipulators, especially if you are trusting or have grown up in a disfunctional household or been traumatized in the past. A narcissist can spot a vulnerable person to prey upon in a millisecond.

What if your manipator is so powerful the he or she gets in contact with everyone that has ever been in your life. Turning every person that you have ever known against you. Even that you have known them over twenty years or more.driving you out of society causing every person to despise you. That nothing will bring them back to the person they once were. By the dozens against you and you have done nothing to no one. Every time you make new friend, they turn them against you. Recovering manipulator here: I remember having done a lot of these and being called out for them by my EX. The truly crazy thing was most of what I did and said wasn't in a mindset of "I have to fool this person and control them" it was "I'm scared and need to build some slack into my environment to be safe" of course there was little to no thought as to others emotional safety but I didn't enjoy doing it just to do it. I did it because I felt I "had to" let me put it another way. The first person any truly good manipulator, conman, emotionally controlling partner has to fool is themselves. That doesn't mean I was/am blameless. I had agency and choices the whole time. It does mean though that in a very real sense some manipulators aren't living in the same would as other people. Again, I want to make it clear. we are all responsible for our actions. Setting back and being like "well I have a mental disorder" or whatever and doing fuck all about it is what garbage people do. That said in my experience the truly "gifted" manipulators are so deep in their own bs they can't see a world outside of it.

You should ask yourself why they are choosing you. Try saying no. Always be polite, honest, and direct. Take control of the situation.

It became the worst when I became a stay at home mom for 7yrs after birthing our 3 kids close in age. Had control of everything

I went thru the exact same thing that you did! I got pregnant and started staying at " home " his house of course, not mine - never mine! I also had three kids, close together - close in age, only two years between my first and second children and then not even two years between my second and third children. And while their father already had a lot of control over my life, and theirs, that's when he sneakily and secretly took complete control, especially financial control and worked to isolate me as much as possible, in a very covert way of course. He may not have an actual diagnosis but there is no doubt in my mind, or in my heart of hearts and in my very Soul that this " man " is, has always been and will always be an abusive, neglectful, dishonest, despicable, cold hearted, uncaring covert narcissist!!!!! He has practicly ruined my life, destroyed my hopes and dreams, and continues to try to destroy me because I discovered his affair with an " old friend " of mine, an affair that was started in 2015 - 2016 and continues to this very day. I also discovered that their affair is " transactional " with him paying that infamous whore for sex. Yet many, many times over these years me and my kids most basic needs, basic necessities, our health and well-being completely neglected and his house, that we still live in, is dilapidated and falling apart - because getting and paying for his infamous prostitutes p***y was and still is the most important thing to this creep and me and our kids could just go die in a hole somewhere I guess!!! Once I am fully gone from here, fully and completely severed from this low life creep I am going to make sure that he has to face me in court in front of a judge and jury I am going to make sure that he is exposed for what and who he really is!!! After a lifetime of abuse, neglect, disrespect, disloyalty, lying, cheating, ECT I cannot just walk away without trying my very best to hold him accountable for his many crimes and misdeeds. And I honestly cannot even imagine being in any kind of relationship with another " man " or anyone else, ever again. I'm a mess because I'm so angry, cannot trust anyone, ECT that I don't think that it's possible nor do I even want to be close to anyone else ever again. Except for my children and my granddaughter of course! I'm so sorry for this long rant! Please forgive me! 👋✌️🤜🤛❤️❤️❤️❤️💔💔💔💔😼😽🙀😿😾

I think there are social manipulators, there's probably self help or how to succeed in business books out there on how to be one of these people. Some people communicate with others in order to benefit the group, others just talk to hear themselves talk and to be the centre of attention.

Awesome. Thank you for this video. This is very true and often missed, but invitations to parties or acting friendly can be and many times are a way to manipulate you. These people act as friends, and they are just fake friends. All the points of fake friends would fit a manipulator too.

Excellent video, on target! Very informative. Unfortunately, I know all of the tactics spoken of in your video and the correct way to react or not react is more like it!! I struggle greatly with the latter!!! Thank you for so many educational videos. I learn so much from you. I love the mans voice who narrates, something very calming and kind about it❤️ makes a person want to listen to his wisdom.

I’ve never had a good or loving relationship with my older sister bc she has most of these traits. I really wish she would appreciate what I do for her, but the words “thank you” and “I’m sorry” simply don’t exist in her vocabulary. I’m 27, she’s 41. Maybe I’m being harsh but.. I think I’ve reached my limit. I’m done trying to get a crumb of appreciation or affection from her. I’m just done.

Let the pain go and mourn their loss. Try to respond not react. Let go of your expectations of her and when you say you're done mean it. But don't be dramatic about it

I remember there was a time where I cut all the contact with people. I didn't want them to worry about me, but they did it anyways. Now that I know that isn't correct and generates desperation, I won't do it again.

Thank you for all your hard work on these videos. I find them predominantly helpful and useful towards self-care and mitigating future harm. Simultaneously I struggle with the size of certain lists, because of personal focus issues and also how many of these actions can also not be forms of manipulation at times... but I reckon having to figure this all out in specific and varying details is the ultimate goal to be most aware and most able,

the worst is the person who grows up in this toxic environment, he or she thinks it is normal to manipulate people. Go through their whole life without knowing it. Kinda broken.

Manipulation can be good or bad, depending ones point of personal execution. Example: Are they manipulating from a point of Self Doubt, lack of empathy, frustration, desperation, misunderstanding and selfishness on their part? Or are they manipulating you from a point of self-love, empathy, peace, contentment, understanding and fulfillment? And then there is this, an influential bully.
