@RebelliousVandal5 жыл бұрын
Actually, we don't like ''tourists'' who urinate, release their fucking bladder on our Brivibas piemeneklis or trying to climb it, some of them get so drunk and then start to do public dick show-off and the crazy part - they are making pictures, they act like they are untouchable, being very disrespectful. Mostly those asshole ''tourist'' are single men/bachelors from UK. Thank God to Brexit, I hope these morons will never come to Latvia. Just because we are small country and not so rich in whole EU, it doesn't mean those cunts are free to act like raised in jungle and think they will get away with it without punishment. We dislike, do not welcome visitors who act like they are more supreme than us and do offensive deeds.

@@RameXRacing another problem in Latvia is that many of these historic building owners are careless and do not renovate their buildings. Many such historic buildings in Riga are in a bad shape and no one has been doing anything about it for years. Yes the owners need to pay higher taxes if they have buildings in a bad shape but thats not enough to make them want to renovate them. For example many historic art nouveau and wooden buildings in Riga are in a bad shape. Very careless owners. Walk down Peitavas street in the old town and you will see what im talking about. Yes, there is some progress regarding this but it has to be faster. Just explored Bergen in Norway and that kind of thing simply doesnt happen there. Yes maybe saw only a few buildings there that were not in the best of shape however they really take very good care of most of their historic wooden and other buildings. Very appealing and a pleasure to look at. Hopefully Riga can follow their example soon enough.
@RameXRacing5 жыл бұрын
@@dreamthedream8929 not only that, to renovate some historic building costs shit ton of money, as that is required by law you cannot just renovator it as you wish. No-one is really interested to invest huge amount of money in it that way if there is no return (simple business rules)
@dreamthedream89295 жыл бұрын
@@RameXRacing its more about peoples mindset and mentality. In other countries such as Norway people really value their cultural and historical heritage which of course includes all the historic buildings. They are very well taken care of. In Latvia however many historic buildings are in hands of careless people with no such values which is a shame. And no, it doesnt cost that much. At least for the historic wooden buildings just put some fresh paint on to begin with. That alone should make it more appealing from the outside. In Bergen all their wooden buildings are nicely and freshly painted. When it comes to art nouveau buildings well yes that would be more expensive. However they didnt just fall apart overnight. The careless owners in Latvia saw them falling apart for years and did nothing. And some were intentionally made that way. And if those careless owners cant afford to do that then the government must take an approapriate action. Like in other cities in other countries. Yes, even in Estonia the historic buildings are in a better shape.
