Don’t give up on filming with the older cars. True car enthusiasts appreciate them and more so now than ever with the constant releases of cars lacking soul and character.

I'd agree with your point about getting the algorithm to pick you up by featuring new cars etc, but personally, I love this, and the main channel, because it's a diverse approach to creating car content. You're not buying the newest supercar, twin turbo'ing it to "over 1000bhp", wrapping and selling 2 months later like most other channels seem to regurgitate. Even if I'm not particularly interested in the subject of a video, I still watch because I know it's going to be well presented, well shot, and enjoyable. Keep going with what you're doing, it's great stuff!

The views are not always about new vs. old cars but rather about how attainable these cars are for the everyday people. The algorithm has also to do with the number of content creators reviewing a certain type of cars. The more reviews about old cars on KZbin the more your videos will be seen. Hammering with hyper cars all the time creates in my opinion a distance with the viewers and as many said you need to be in the mood. My fiancée knows jack “fruit” about cars but she watches your podcast just because of Tony’s laugh and your banter😆. Keep it up guys!

Fiesta ST performance has LSD as standard (was optional on normal ST), lighter wheels, and coilovers. Things that actually make a big difference on a small hot hatch. At least give it a chance rather than just jumping to conclusions without doing the research. Makes it even more odd that Tony bought one without knowing this

Sam, honestly keep doing what you’re doing! You’re my favourite car youtuber, in a world where pretty much all the others are just throwing money at the same expensive super & hyper cars, you’re keeping it a bit more sensible for the rest of us, the regular people. I’ll admit that whilst I’ve watched since before the 4C, I’ve ducked out of the odd one or two videos during the years, but I love the older cars as much as the new stuff so keep doing what you want to, they’ll always be people out there to watch it, even as annoying as the algorithm can be!

On the topic of reinventing a KZbin channel. I understand your thoughts, as a suggestion :) ; Always good to try new things, but focus on what makes YOU happy, to do what you want to do. Your personal interests have set you apart from other car youtubers the last years (e.g. Drive the World, studio/HQ (along with JWW), behind the glass). I enjoy watching the video's and podcasts where your passion and enthusiasm for cars shines through. Weather it is old or new cars. I must admit I have skipped some videos during Drive the World, mainly because I felt your enthusiasm was lacking sometimes and the videos became part of a routine, where you were not necessarily passionate about the car in question (maybe that was not the case, but that was my impression). LOVED the movies though!! Now I think you are doing a great job, doing (as far as I can tell) what YOU want to do!! And the quality of your content is soo goood, especially the music. I'm not an expert and this is the first time I'm commenting but hope this helps, keep it up. Sorry, a bit long ;).

It also has pretty much every option ticked, including the performance pack with Quaife limited slip differential. The ST Edition is also the same spec with a different colour scheme. So yeah, bit more than a paint job. you guys need to research topics sometimes before jumping to conclusions.

Sam, Please, keep doing occasional content on older cars. I for one really enjoyed the recent M5 Touring video as I once drove a similar (non Touring) E34 M5 to spain and back. It’s interesting to hear a new (younger) reviewer perspective. Also an antidote to endless new Supercar content which for most viewers is far less attainable than some older performance cars.

Personally, I follow the content creator as opposed to the topic. An engaging presenter or presentation can make anything interesting or entertaining. Seeing “off topic” content is a bonus for me. But Tony’s point is spot on; KZbin is ‘searched’ for content as opposed to searched for creator, so anything niche by its nature is more likely to get missed. What you need is the time to push volume, ‘churn’ to get the income and then do more stuff you enjoy for its own sake. Reminds me of the premise of the show ‘Extras’; commercial success isn’t always creatively or artistically rewarding. But you’re striking a pretty good balance.

I watched your E 34 wagon video and I thought that it was cool to see you do something that’s not very typical for you personally Sam. You did an OK job reviewing the car but it certainly could’ve been better. You could’ve talked a lot more about the fact of this was an evolution version of the car etc. In the spirit of full disclosure, I own one of these, in the final 1995 spec. This car is definitely collectible already and will only become more special as they get older.

- Your varied content is what keeps your channel fresh, and more relatable to your average viewer. I lost interest in the channels that seem to focus on the Hypercars/custom cars & continuous supercars as i cannot relate to it at all. - BMW CS models; i'm sure they only produce them to help shift the models as they get older, and to make them attractive - 140K car options; E63S Wagon, 85K & Audi R8 V10, 2012, 55K, - Manufacturer overlapping of cars; It comes from the VAG group & the Frenchies; EG Audi A3; 3 door and 5, and estate version, and the cabriolet, S model, RS version. And so do most other A models too . . . . They are trying to capture every single niche and demand and not make it a big gap from one range to another. The gold & Golf plus; 4" of extra room - why not just buy a Passat . . . .

At £140k I'm looking at the following eclectic selection of cars. 550 Maranello plus a fast estate Manual 575M F12 Berlinetta GTC4 Lusso Bentley Brooklands Coupe Bentley Flying Spur V8s Or something custom built - Like a BMW E9 restomod using an E34 M5 engine and modern running gear. There is very little new that interests me any more, it's all so fast, so acomplished and so numb that much of the emotion, enjoyment and experience has been engineered out by incredibly capable computers. EDIT: I wrote this list before listening to your choices and appear to have ended up at pretty much the same place. Re 575's the asking prices are mostly not remotely connected to real world selling prices, particularly for the F1 version.

Use the remainder of the money for repairs. Please keep up the classic car/modern classic content. I've been loving it. Interesting debate. I’ve just been in that position with a £150k budget to replace my 2019 Vantage. It was a relatively easy choice when I spotted a low mileage “20 plate” 600LT Spider with a great specification including MSO sarthe grey paint, Senna seats, carbon packs 1 & 2 and interior pack plus lots, lots more. New list price at £250k and I secured it for just under my budget from a main dealer. Interestingly in the 2 weeks since I bought mine, I’ve watched another six LT Spiders sell on Autotrader. Clearly I’m not the only one who thinks these cars offer a bit of value at the moment, especially when you look at used Pista Spiders at £350k+. Initial impressions are amazing and it feels better built than the 570S I bought new in 2017. In my experience McLaren’s are better bought when they are 1 year old due to the savage initial depreciation.
