I got the Altimas after a trip to Bonaire. Neoprene boots are just not supportive or rugged enough for rocky shore entry. My feet were in rough shape after a week of shore diving in 3 mil booties. The Altimas are so comfortable and versatile that I started wearing them as my everyday shoes. Wearing them daily for the past 9 months, and only 3 days ago did I notice a torn seam at the rear of the shoe at the pull tabs. One zig zag machine stich with upholstery thread and they are back to 100% They have a fairly neutral buoyancy, they fit my Aventi Quattros and Dive Rite fins perfectly. They drain and dry quickly. And for what it's worth, they don't seem to hold on to Odor as much as the neoprene. Even after leaving them wet in a grocery bag, and forgotten for a few days, they were far less gross that they should have been. When I have cleaned them, dish soap and water with an air dry removed any lingering odor. 10/10 I'm buying a second pair

Glad I found this video. I've been looking for a diving review of these boots, thank you!

I use them for multisump cave diving for One year now. My only stress now, is not find them again if they are discontinued. I will never go back to any rockboot / or any shitty dive boot ever (i'm a dive professional)

please do try the 8 inch version, and let us know if it would restrict kicking motions too much. Also interested in the buoyancy qualities of those

What do you wear for socks? I tried to use Chuck Taylor’s but my RK3s hurt the top of my foot when I wore them.

@@markmild251 waterproof 1.5 mm neoprene socks. I use either deep6 or aquatec fins. Since the top of the Altama boot is higher than a conventional boot, I can see how that could be an issue with some fins.
