The response to the high drag that this car generates at high speed are the angled up exhaust tips at the rear, the create and extra amount of downforce in the rear by pushing the rear of the car down, which is one of the reasons why the car is so grippy.

For me, GT4 will always be the most honest racing game ever made. It was the most humble and didn't fuss about theatrics, didn't let you blaspheme manufacturers' cars, and was overall the antithesis to all of the other, arcade style games like NFS, etc. that annoyed us true motorsport enthusiasts to some degree. Those games serve their purpose, no doubt. But GT4 was all about you and the laws of physics. No other game requires you to study the behavior, the tune, and the performance of each car in order to achieve pure entertainment. There was a particularly clinical approach about it that made it wonderful. It is a game, THE game, for true racers and car enthusiasts - not for everyone, and this is what makes it so great. I lately discovered that I studied engineering where the head producer of GT4 achieved his degree in race car engineering, and I look back at this game with even deeper sentiment now. Long live GT4, a true masterpiece for its time.

Your videos are very good. GT2 and GT4 were more successful in Brazil than GT1, GT2, GT3 and GT5. GT2 races had HP limitation, engine sounds were better; the FR and MR cars were difficult to drive because the rear escaped ... In GT2 I have won many endures with Alpha 155 DTM, Vector M12, Venturi 600 LM, Lister Storm. GT4 I liked it because it looks a lot like GT2.

Man, wish I had tons of free time in my hands nowadays. Reminds me of some of my first gaming experiences with my old PS2 and GT4, probably like 10 years ago, when I was like 8, and makes me want to go and play the whole game until I finish it. I remember my holidays, I'd do 8 hour sessions on 24h Nurburgring, just managing the race and letting my driver lap all the sports cars multiple times using a LeMans series Mercedes that I won somewhere. Those cars here are all the cars I wanted but never got, I guess my switching to PC stopped me in my tracks, so I never got to finish this game. Maybe if I knew about GT mode since the start (I didn't know any english back then) and didn't waste my time playing arcade for first few years after I got the game, I'd be able to finish it. Maybe in few years I'll find time to do it

The visuals, SFX and music in the menus are incredible in themselves. I hope the next GT game has more of that 'vibe', they abandoned it for something far more pedestrian in GT5, GT6 and GT Sport (although it has nice menu music)

This game still looks amazing 14 years later, yet if you go 14 years back from 2004 and look at racing games from 1990 they look terrible, the graphical leap from 1990-2004 is insane and it shows how much technology has slowed down, the difference is minor from 2004-2018... which is the same period of time, crazy.
