Gundam Front Tokyo has undergone it's transformation into the Gundam Base Tokyo! And with that change came the 1/1 scale Unicorn Gundam! It's amazing! Let's have a look around the new facilities!

It's not too difficult, my GF and I are going in about a week, and it's only costing us about $700 a person to be there for 10 days (flying from America). I suggest staying at an AIRBNB instead of a hotel, I did that last time I went and enjoyed it, and I'm doing it again this year. You'll spend maybe $30-40 per night. Just be a smart shopper, don't try to stay right there in the busy city, just a little ways away. You can get everywhere on trains. As for plane tickets, download both the Hopper app and Skyscanner, you can punch in your desired trip details and be alerted when plane tickets are cheaper. They fluctuate drastically from $500-$1200, and it goes up and down all the time. Lastly do research about when and why plane tickets change in price, it's cheaper to go when it isn't a touristy season. You'll be there in no time.

There used to be a local hobby store in my hometown that initially got me into gunpla, though they only had a small selection of kits and never stocked the same thing twice so something new was there every time. Sadly the owners retired a few years ago after running the store for nearly 60 years. Found out when I got home from my freshman year of college as their closing sale was going on :(. Now the place is a grocery store for fresh produce, but it won't ever be the same, since that store was where I spent so many hours of my childhood browsing model kits and looking at all the various things I couldn't afford. Ordering stuff online just isn't the same. I actually still have yet to build any of the kits I bought from that final sale, I feel like it just wouldn't be right to do it. (picked up an older HG kit, a translucent Star Trek Deep Space 9 model kit, and a pricey model of the original Apollo rocket).

Just came back from Tokyo the 1st full day I was there I so had to visit gundam base and cafe i took so many pictures I used a full battery pack on gundams alone including the unicorn show on video, while at the shop I noticed the haro,s on the ceiling while trying to find the source of haro talking they had both the green and pink giant balls up in corners,while paying for my limited kits the guy at the counter even gave me a gundam base card as a souvenir (and yes it has points on it) I even had my photo with the unicorn (in normal mode) had bought the professional pic it comes in a unique case and what surprised me was that you could even scan the QR code on the wallet pic to upload extra images I wish I could have had the same photo with the Rx 78-2 ,loved my experience (my wallet didn't lol) I so want to go back again

it's there indefinitely! But the GMs and Zakus lined up outside are temporary, along with the stuff scattered throughout the mall. But the main Gundam Base will be there!

Bandai continues to softly promote their 'Basic build' philosophy: build, panel-line, sticker, spraycoat. Although weathering and customizing are popular at shows and exhibitions, the basic build is still the most popular.

I actually went there last month. And from a country where i live in. where taxes are high and and kits in here are very expensive as hell, the prices of kits inside gundam base tokyo is still cheap. Like i bought 10000 yen worth of gunpla there (mostly hg). I got like 8 hg kits. But if you have an allowance of 10000 yen and buy kits in here, you can only buy 3-4 hg kits
