The fog and rain were bad luck. Too bad about Block's engine failure as well. I would love to see the the McMurtry Spierling do PPIHC next year. After seeing it obliterate the Goodwood record, I think they would have a shot at Dumas' record if the Spierling can perform at altitude like it did at Goodwood. And have more favorable conditions of course!

If you like aviation, racing or weather or any combination of the three, this is a must watch. He goes from VFR to IFR multiple times, dry to wet to icy and he must have the course memorized because of he makes a mistake at most places, he’s falling off a sheer cliff. This is one of the most impressive things I have ever seen.

I was amazed that you were even able to do this. I was standing just before the gentle turn before the start, and I heard your car before I saw it, and it was gone into the fog by the time you made it through the real start. I could tell you were pushing a lot more than the other drivers, just based on speed, racing line, and how much you were using your car. Can’t really do much better in these conditions, yet you probably see some room for improvement somewhere. Better luck on the weather next year Robin!
