Some beautiful engineering there, what I really like is that huge coil arrangement. Imagine the generator / engine that could be built with that. A shaft and decent magnets attached to a wind or water mill can really put out some power if done right.

The cover plate makes a great Euler disk. Spin it on a piece of glass. Add magnets for more weight and it will wobble longer.

Mazda did a rotary engine. It was some what unreliable and hugely expensive to repair. Really interesting stuff and I can picture you build this and it sounding awesome. Fuel and ignition timing from an ardweno "spell check" epic build and very hard I would think
@totherarf

Yes they got an amazing amount of power in a small space! They were based on splines sliding in and out of a shaft which was off centered. The problem was that the wear occurred on both sides of the spline the far end and the faces that slid in and out of the shaft ...... A Lot of wear area! If you didn't get the service interval (3K miles as I remember) the wear on the shaft would mean an expensive replacement! But that engine sounded and performed on another level!

Biogas wont normally ignite unless you combine it with addition air. The Fema down draft gassifier PDF file mentions the ratios for the different ice engine sizes to determine the correct scale (size) gassifier. Chilling the vapor will enable a greater gas volume to be compressed.

Rob a 3 phase compressor like the one in your video would make a really good wind turbine if a perment magnet rotor was made for it good sealed thrust bearing on the front You could make a bullet shaped long lasting sealed wind turbine out one of these compressers and a few other parts i have been wanting to make one but have not had the time yet i have turned 3 phase motors into generators using perm magnets and when done right the results are very impressive!!

Hi rob, could a refrigerator run without electricity? I looked at some very early fridges and I wasn't seeing a power cord anywhere. I know they can run on gas as I got one in caravan which does but could it be one big heat sink arrangement? Maybe have cold water involved, cheers mac

By second law of thermodynamics, to pull heat from a colder source to a warm sink it takes energy. This energy can be mechanical (as from the motor that drives a compressor) or thermal. In this second case, we are talking about absorption refrigerators, where the "heavy lifting" of pushing the vapors from low to high pressure side is done by heat, which boils a solution of refrigerant and a liquid solvent. Typical combinations are water and lithium bromide or ammonia and water. Standard designs require a circulating pump for the rich solution, however the Einstein-Szilard and the Platen-Munters designs can do away with that by using a clever trick with a third gas in the circuit.
