Now I must be ashamed... I live in Sweden and not far from Stockholm, only 160 km there. Despite that, I have never visited the Vasa Museum... Nice that you know so much about everything possible. My wife and I used to go to Plymouth a few times a year as we only lived 1/2 hour away. We moved to Ohio last year and now YOU"RE in Plymouth (temporarily). I came to this place back in about 1966 and went to one of the islands you get a glimpse of. It is called Clark's Island for the Pilgrim who was first to jump off the boat a group of the Pilgrims used to land there. As it turned out, when we toured the island and listened to some people singing English Madrigals the boat we came over on was leaning on the sand. We picked some mussels while the tide came back in and refloated the boat. We had a late dinner but used the steamed mussels while we waited. This video made me think of that because the tide is out here where Leland is filming.

Plymouth Memorial Hall is dedicated to Plymouth's war veterans. The hall was built in 1921 and has been used for town meetings, proms, graduations, concerts, basketball and many other uses. It is the home of the Plymouth Philharmonic Orchestra. The main hall seats up to 1,500 people and offers handicapped accessibility. The Blue Room (upstairs) is used for plays, private parties, dances and other receptions. The American Legion History Room in Memorial Hall contains articles from most wars and uniforms of local service people who gave their lives. It is open to the public the 1st and 3rd Fridays and the 2nd and 4th Sundays of every month from noon to 4pm. It is also open Memorial Day and Veterans' Day. The VFW also has a room in Memorial Hall.

Plymouth Memorial Hall is your historic space that can fit most needs for your special occasions. The Historic Plymouth Memorial Hall is located in the heart of historic downtown Plymouth and is a short walking distance to National landmarks such as Plymouth Rock and the Mayflower II. Offering an array of area attractions, hotels, and restaurants Memorial Hall can be your ideal location for your next event. Memorial Hall offers two event locations to suit your needs. First is the historic Blue Room, not named after its color. The Blue Room is ideal for Weddings, Corporate functions, private parties and small gatherings. The Blue room is 2,500 square feet and can seat up to 200 guests at dinner rounds. The room has a small stage. Outside of the Blue Room is a cocktail reception area that is about 525 square feet. The Main Hall has several seating options available seating up to 1,500 people with the Balcony and Mezzanine capacity at 1,050 fixed seats. The event floor measures a total of 3,750 square feet. In addition to the event space there is a prep kitchen and green room that can be used as a dressing room and prep space for the event. The main entrance to Memorial Hall is used as a War Memorial, the Hall is also home to the local Veteran offices. Available by appointment only for tours and scheduled site visits. We have a 1,500 seat venue that offers a small function room and Green room to delight our special guests. The parking lot is within walking distance and provided by Park Plymouth. We host events for the community and provide Recreation Programs.

Wow! My first thought was this is GREAT! We have another summer vacation outing without having to get there! My second thought was "Dude, you're making me feel old!" I'm pretty certain I've been there (just the rock area), but it's been so long (and has probably seen changes in the area) so it doesn't look familiar.
