I currently contribute to the National Housing Trust (NHT) and only visit Jamaica every 6 months, but by the time I find out about new projects, they are often already sold out and only posted on KZbin or TikTok. Should I contact a realtor before I’m eligible?

Good Day. I would advise you to contact NHT to get a qualification letter so that you can be ready to make a move on an NHT project or something on the open market. You can see stat updates on upcoming schemes by checking the NHT website or visiting a real estate website to see available housing units. One of the best websites to see available units would be www.classarealestate.com

The houses are mainly for Civil Servants and you would have to be apart of one of the unions to apply for one. Recently NHT advertised 30+ of the units for eligible contributors and the results are out now on NHTs website.

16mil? The contruction of the house doesn't cost that much. Almost 100k us to live in a cube. How are poor people to afford that? House prices are crazy in Jamaica and it will only get worse. It’s better to build from scratch, but the land prices are super high as well. Land is gold here in Jamaica.
