Greetings, Lee and everyone! The video with Rick Beato represents a treasure trove of information for people looking to get into entertainment. Like my son (whom you met in Atlanta) - your experience with networking and clear communication can help anyone willing to listen and practice what you preach. In a similar vein is your interview with Amy Keys, chock-full of life experience and wisdom. Thank you!

Hi Lee! I just wanted to say that I watched your interview with Rick Beato last night. What a treat! All Rick had to do was ask some great leading questions, and then sit back and have you share some of your great stories. It was an excellent interview. Congrats to the both of you. Only surprise to me was that Rick didn’t give you an opportunity to discuss the documentary, The Section, or TIF in any detail. But, he knew he had a master storyteller on his hands, and he just wanted to give you free rein to entertain us. I Read allot of the comments afterward; hundreds of warm accolades, many saying it’s the best interview Rick has done. You, sir, are such a treasure.

Without doubt the interview of Leland Sklar by Rick Beato will be one of the best ever recorded. In an hour that seemed vanished in minutes was one of the most informative and enjoyable conversations concerning recorded music to be found. Thank you Leland, this was a treat to listen to Steven Kowalczyk and style of music. I began my music journey listening to Jazz and the style played had me remembering a ’58 recording of George Shearing and Dakota Staton in an album ‘In the Night’, The Hi Los and ‘All That Jazz’ also recorded at the same time in the late 50’s. The Manhattan Transfer which you recorded with is another similar type I always have enjoyed. You are joy to be with if only by digital and video transcription

Your latest interview with Rick was awesome - thanks so much - I really liked your anecdotes, including the one about Steven Kowalczyk's album (and his reaction to it) during the Berklee Clinic. Thanks for sharing this great song again. I'm glad I stumbled upon this today and grateful for your channel and videos.

Hey, Lee, my name is Mark and I'm a former Nashville songwriter from back in the '90s. (Apologies for the company logo.) So sorry to hijack this thread, but I'd love to send you a memoir I released a couple of years ago about my days in the music industry. Even if you don't read it, just you HAVING it would make my year, and I think you might actually get a kick out of it. (You'd recognize a lot of names.) If there's a way for me to send it to you or message you in a more appropriate format, I'd be honored. Many thanks!

Leland my son is 9 and yesterday I made in air tonight on my synth and posted the video on my KZbin and one of the reasons I made the song is not only it is my favorite and I have the lyrics framed in my house as art and it’s pretty large, but also his favorite song. It’s amazing that a 9 year old loves this song so much and last night he was watching you do the bass line on KZbin. He is fascinated with you and I truly hope you become an inspiration for him to play bass. His name is Leo and you have a 9 year old fan. Just wanted to let you know Thanks for all you do

Today's offering reminds me so much of the swinging, walking bass line in Gotham City that you played in the Lyle Lovett show. The Dingwall served that purpose so well.

Moods and Grooves Review by Alex Henderson The obscure jazz-pop singer Steven Kowalczyk made his recording debut with Moods and Grooves, a competent, if uneven, effort that was co-produced by Atlantic's Ahmet Ertegun. Although this CD isn't fantastic and didn't go very far commercially, it has its moments and is decent more often than not. The album's least memorable offerings include the adult contemporary tune "Old" and the uptempo "Mean Alligator," which is much too cliched for its own good. But other selections indicated that Kowalczyk had possibilities. Influenced by early Chet Baker, he shows himself to be a likable crooner on the moody "Grow Another Garden" and the standard "Polka Dots and Moonbeams" (which is the only song on Moods and Grooves that Kowalczyk didn't write himself). Meanwhile, one hears some Mark Murphy influence on more uptempo numbers like "Mr. Personality" (a clever put-down of an ultra-pretentious Tinseltown resident) and "Vampire," although Kowalczyk isn't nearly as adventurous or daring as Murphy. Again, Moods and Grooves isn't a gem, but it indicated that Kowalczyk had potential and was worth keeping an eye on.

I love swing! You told the Steve Santoro story in your latest Beato interview and today’s track re-emphasises what a great singer he is as well as being an interesting songwriter. The Washburn Bass definitely has an upright quality to it but as the Tedesco story points out, it’s all in the hands of the player!

I noticed there were lots of Tom Jones mix ups in the news. I'm slow getting caught up. More inspection people less than two weeks after the first guy. I guess they are selling the complex I live in, which might, work out better for me, depending on who gets it. They finally turned up yesterday but not sure more won't pop up today. Been a three day marathon of no detailed schedule. Just like waiting by the phone, before any kind of message machine, but it's the door, and trying to not, be trapped in the bathroom as a single person with the orders to leave the privacy lock off. Other reasons to move to the pasture with the scorpions and tarantulas. Scorpions? or building inspectors? Less worried about the tarantulas, except there are quite a lot of them... Gotta live somewhere, and private corporate equities for landlords, is unsustainable.
