Learning about the 1878 S mint Morgan Silver Dollar Quill Error was so mind blowing and value that I checked my coin for this error? And it does have this error! Since watching this video, i had no idea that the person which sold me this coin might have a small fortune and I just shared this video with him. His Dad died and left him some collectables. I think his Dad would appreciate my honesty not to take advantage of his son’s good fortune and glad he sold some to me and not to someone who would. Thank you for submitting this video.

For me, if you have a few dollars to blow, getting a 1883 or 1884 Carson City in DMPL is a way to go. If you love DMPL and you love CC, then those two years are the cheapest of the series.

I have been getting into trouble with Morgan's,for almost 3 years when I started collecting, and I love these things, you know your stuff about them, I wish I had your knowledge, the last couple of weeks I've been after these hard,I can't compete with the rich guy's in auctions though..I have lost 8 good cc,Morgan's in auctions, I just could not bid any higher than I could afford. Prices are generally supply and demand ... case in point, 1939 arkansas commorative half dollars mintage of 2,100 per mint ! ! ! INCREDIBLY RARE ! ...if it were a morgan dollar it would LITERALLY be worth tens of thousands of dollars! But you can find these for about $200 bucks or LESS ! There's just no demand

Just FYI to collectors for the 1880 Carson City dollars all examples are over dates, the dies used were all altered 1879 dies left over from the previous year. The most valuable is the reverse of 1878 variety, it is believed there were only 100,000-125,000 minted.

The fate of the 1901 BU's sounds like the strange fate of the high end 1934 Denver and 1928 Philly. It's like everyone started getting germ-crazy and began cleaning things like mad the second that Peace dollars went out into circulation. My coin shop just put up a 1893-S for $3200 and it is *not* pretty; only the coveted 1895-P's and O's are more precious than those.
