I interpreted Trent Crimm's character arch and ultimate decision to get out of the smarmy world of journalism as directly influenced by Ted Lasso's integrity and character. Ted's respect for Trent made him want to be a better person.

@@yourcre8tivity Indeed. I've seen a lot of people use it, but it doesn't make sense. A journalist is supposed to ask the hard questions. Maybe the people who had that opinion are used to seeing fluff pieces, or maybe it's the rise of access journalism in America where you almost always see an administration face a tough interview with a European reporter they clearly aren't expecting.

you may disagree that Trent Crimm still went ahead with that 2nd devastating article on Ted. but think about the outcome. Ted came forward, admitted to his illness, and even brought to light the mental health issues that professional athletes go through. and Trent, knowing Ted’s character, had a good suspicion that this would also be the outcome, and realized the overall benefit of bringing this issue to light.

I agree and to add to it, I’ve thought he could be a potential replacement for Keeley’s role as well. Writing the book while working for AFC Richmond. I also think they set up an interaction with Rebecca or Higgins possibly as he lost his keys in the parking lot as Ted leaves. So that’s my thoughts, but we’ll see. The writers on this show are remarkable!
