Martin, you have no idea how your work impacts so many people around the world. I’m sitting here in a suburb of Cleveland Ohio waiting for your video to post. When the notification pops up I can’t get to your channel fast enough! Why? You! Your humble way of storytelling inspires me in so many ways. Watching you tackle the shingles -one by one- literally inspires me to tackle the chores set out for the day Then your beautiful photography! Oh my gosh - it just takes the viewer away and leaves us with an extraordinary sense of peace. Watching you paint, cook meals, bake bread - can’t explain it but it’s a gift. I am so grateful to you for your channel. Thank you. Wishing you a good day today☀️🥾❄️😊

sorry, nope. 😂 as much as I love and adore Martjin - his chicken coop gets Four stars maximum. There is a man on YT who built a truly five star chicken coop for his chickens and 2 ducks - with cool posters and hilariously funny signs from cartoons.. .
The chicken coop built by another KZbinr - Shawn James - is a magnificent 5-star edifice, although I personally prefer the 'rustic' charm of Martjin's design 🙂 kzbin.info/www/bejne/qafFiKGJe7t3nJIsi=mQXypX6wd4w1HvhY

It may be Martijn thoughtfully lowering the volume, but it's more likely his camera making the adjustments. Audio recording devices can only handle certain sound pressure levels, above which excessively loud sound will seem to be muted on playback.

Martijn, You need a sled with a pull rope or harness for pulling wood and other things around your property. I often find myself watching your hands. Those fine, beautiful hands remind me of someone from my youth. You often have a pair of discarded gloves in the picture. That stirs memories of working at a task that just could not be done with gloves. Little things make me feel as though I know you. Watching your video is like breathing fresh air in the mountains. As always, it has been a pleasure.

Your aesthetic choices based upon nature with minimal human intrusion showing, such as when you first saw your homestead, have played out so beautifully episode to episode! Replacing the sheet metal roof on the coop with split shingles, building your own wooden gutters, the "beau arts" wood storage... everything contributes to your original vision! It's all so beautiful, there surrounded by the ineffable beauty that nature offers. It means a lot more hard work, but you live with the aesthetics forever! It's one of the great things about your channel: your vision! Here on the Gulf (of America🤡🤣) in South Louisiana this past week, it looked like your opening shots: 11" of snow and temps down to 4 degrees fahrenheit in my town! We had blizzard warnings! I agree completely. Plastic may be cheap and convenient but it ends up becoming useless and creates a mess that lasts for centuries. I enjoy you being right there, in the moment, not bouncing around trying to get the "perfect shot" and so on. The different woods will age so they can be identified, but still remain part of the natural environment. I remember when you first started, then where you are now.
