In this vlog discover with me Tadoussac in the Charlevoix region in the province of Quebec in Canada
I'll show you around the town, the town, Pointe Rouge, Pointe-de-l'Islet, the La Coupe trail and the Colline-de-l'Anse-à-l'eau trail.
This village of barely 900 inhabitants is located at the mouth of the Saguenay River Fjord.
You should know that Tadoussac Bay is on the list of the most beautiful bays in the world.
It is a particularly good place to see whales, you will not be able to escape the countless references to the marine mammal all over the city and in particular the boat excursions to observe them.
It is quite small there is a small town center with the superb Sainte-Croix de Tadoussac church in the center
A pleasant walk on a wooden pontoon runs along the beach.
The Red Point:
Not easy to find (with or without GPS)
So here are some directions to get there on foot:
When you are on the main road (rue des Pionniers), and you pass the church on your right, continue on foot, you will pass rue des Franciscaines on your left which is perpendicular. Continue a little, still on rue des Pionniers, pass the red and white houses, follow the long green wooden fence on the right side and be very vigilant because at one point this fence is cut by a gate in the same material which makes it practically invisible, only these hinges and its metal latch give it away.
There is no sign (I think this is voluntary to respect the tranquility of the residents)
This portal is less than 10 minutes walk from the church.
From there starts a superb path with very beautiful views of the bay and also of beautiful houses.
On the way back when you pass a large white and blue house with a red wooden wheelbarrow in the garden (if it is still there) you will find a path (still without indication) which goes down towards the beach which allows you to return from this walk on the beach, which is very pleasant and the path which goes down to the heart of the forest is impressive
Pointe-de-l’Islet Trail:
At the end of the beach (on the right looking at the sea) I recommend taking the Pointe-de-l'Islet trail
First you will enter the woods, then you take a wooden pontoon which takes you to rocks flowing into the sea.
The spectacle is very beautiful but less so than the second viewpoint that you will find by continuing the path on the wooden pontoon on the left.
In fact you will arrive at the tip of this islet (the tip of Islet) you will be able to walk on the rocks interspersed with water, the spectacle is superb and especially at sunset
To leave, continue along the path on the wooden pontoon, there are other interesting views.
La Coupe Trail and the Colline-de-l’Anse-à-l’eau Trail:
The walk is very pleasant, it forms a loop since we return to the wooden pontoon of the Coupe trail which takes us out into the town.
[Travel carried out only on foot and by public transport]
