I was a 25 in the van but I paid enough attention to know what the echoes jobs were. My AIT was 6 months at Gordan and failing a test wasnt something I worried about. Even when you get to your duty station have to table IV its not that serious. If a test is kicking your ass maybe the army isnt for you. These Young Soldiers SMH. You may get to shoot a missile if you are lucky enough to have to work with Raytheon on some battery testing. My crew shot missiles state side but not on our 2 deployments.

As a patriot master gunner. I will say that you can become very successful in this MOS. You’ve been in the army for less than a year. Relax private. AIT isn’t supposed to be fun. But I will say that it’s extremely low brow in the intelligence required to pass so if you are struggling and thinking you will get recycled, who’s the real “idiot”? You know absolutely nothing about how this job works in big army. Get out of Tirado’s and then express your opinion. You are living the army life with blinders on until you get to a line unit.

So you complain about the training because you dont get to shoot an interceptor "missile" but you dont want to go to war and get shot. The real training on tactics in the van begins when you get to your first unit, they are teaching you the basics in AIT. Learn your job because you dont want to be the reason your crew gets locked down on site for "x" hours for failing a crew evaluation. The training you receive opens the door for numerous job opportunities for life after the military that 14Ts wont receive because of the training you received. Be happy you have a bunk to sleep in at night because you could be deployed to an austere environment and live in a tent sleep on a cot eating MREs for a year at a time. AIT is structured to force you to focus on the training and become MOS-T. Not being on pass and get into trouble which stops your training. This information is coming from your 14E Senior Career Advisor.
