Intel officers represent one of the largest and most diverse officer career fields in the Force. This is true both in terms of sheer numbers, backgrounds, and capabilities. Ops can't happen without them so they are everywhere, all the time.

I enjoy the mix of working with spec ops but also doing the intel work behind a desk that is most of the Air Force. Is there a specific AFSC that does a bit of both? Maybe apart from officer is there a enlistment route? Like what about 1N0? Also, how can I make myself more available to be picked by a spec ops group? Thanks!

For Those AWARDED a red folder when going through processing, do they exit or get detained? Timothy Ryan Olds received one at MEPS of Troy Michigan, but was released. This was back in 2015. Perhaps it was due to a covert mission to learn why we forgot that freemasons were given the opportunity to hide nukes on farmland often masked by what would appear from arial swimming pools. Getting ready to start AFROTC in the fall, wanting intelligence officer or public affairs officer. What are the chances for either of those?
@airforceofficerpodcast
@airforceofficerpodcast 2 жыл бұрын
the chances depend on many things. the things you can control are major (take a look at the the AFOCD: www.milvet.state.pa.us/DMVA/Docs_PNG/hro/AFOCD.pdf), grades, AFOQT, physical fitness, and attitude. focus on those things and it will all work out as its supposed to.

I was offered this job...my question is, do you get to leave base during tech school? Will this prevent me from visiting the country I was born in? Can I cross train to a different field if I don't like it? Also someone told me that you speak multiple language you will be in combat field for translation/interpretation....is this true?
@airforceofficerpodcast
@airforceofficerpodcast Жыл бұрын
1) Yes. 2) Possibly, but unlikely. 3) Possible, but you'll have to be released by the 14N career field, which may not happen. You can always turn the job down if you don't want it. 4) No-that is for enlisted linguists, not intel officers.

What is the difference between intelligence officer and jag officer because I have a feeling their similar yet different.
@jayvaughn2842
@jayvaughn2842 Жыл бұрын
JAG is a lawyer. Period. JAGs can help with ops in terms of approving military missions and targets ensuring there is no violation of the Law of Armed Conflict. But that JAG role is mostly in support of combat ops. Intel officers are providing intelligence analysis to combat operators. They can assist in mission planning, do targeting, analyze imagery, request collection of information, etc...Those two jobs are not the same, except they both require a lot of reading and research. : )

What specialty within intel would include the jumping out of planes and supporting spec ops?
@jayvaughn2842
@jayvaughn2842 Жыл бұрын
You'd need to be assigned to a special ops unit to support special ops. If you wanna take off more often than you land in an aircraft join the army or get in really awesome shape and be AF special ops. Intel isn't the way to go if you wanna be an operator.

@airforceofficerpodcast
@airforceofficerpodcast Жыл бұрын
enlisting first will provide experience and context, but will not necessarily improve your chances of getting selected for OTS. if you want to be an officer, the better route is AFROTC or USAFA.

I have a political science degree and Im from Papua New Guinea. I've always wanted to join the AF since high school. I guess the intelligence officer field would be a suitable area for me given that my background would be critical to US National interest (in the Pacific). Can I enlist in the Airforce and later apply for citizenship using my green card to attend OTS?

You should go 14N with that degree background and get into GEOINT, do NGA type work and/or targeting. Maps and charts, imagery, navigation, precision targeting...all things you can do as a 14N with your background. You'll do very well with that capability.
