Did lane 4 or lane 5 touch first? Lane 5 has an amazing margin of progression in front of him. Average start, average turns (basically no underwater), and fantastic swim in between walls. My guess is that in a 100m free in a 50m pool, the swimmer in lane 5 would have won that race by more than a full second.
