₹15,000 Luxury Hotel in Kolkata, India 🇮🇳

After some disappointing hotel stays in Kolkata, I moved to one that you guys kept recommending to me. ITC Royal Bengal is a luxury 5 star hotel beside the East Kolkata Wetlands.
The location itself isn't that interesting, with nothing really going on in the area outside the hotel, but I appreciated the peace after staying in hotels with so much noise outside.
I paid $180 a night for a mid category room that they call an ITC One room. The staff did offer me an upgrade, but then couldn't find an available suite for me, however I was more than happy in the room that I'd paid for. The view across Kolkata's wetland area was incredible and I couldn't find fault with the room. If you've been watching my channel for a while, you'll know it's rare that I won't find anything in a hotel room that annoys me.
One of my favourite thing about staying in luxury hotels in India is that nobody uses the swimming pool. Almost always I get the whole pool to myself. Very few urban people in India are able to swim, and lounging by the pool sunbathing isn't very popular either.
The hotel gyms are rarely busy either. I always make sure to use these facilities because I enjoy it so much more than in European hotels where they're more crowded.
The room rate I booked included access to the executive lounge where they serve evening canapes. I was going to have an early night sleep, and wasn't feeling like a full dinner, so the desi treats at the lounge made the perfect light meal for me and didn't cost a penny.
It's rare that I wake up early for a hotel breakfast buffet, but after enjoying an early night in the comfy, comfy bed, I made it to the breakfast just 15 minutes after the opening time 7:00 am.
And I'm glad I did. There was so much appealing food on offer. The main sections were India, Western and Asian and I took some tasty treats from each, as well as a couple of pancakes with all the trimmings for dessert. Yum yum!
After enjoying the breakfast I took a long nap and then went out to explore the local area which seems to be some kind of Chinatown, but not "the" Kolkata Chinatown, which is on the other side of the city.

Yes Dale, chowmein is offered to Mother Kali in that Temple but without onion-garlic. They do have a Hindu priest performing daily rituals as well as yearly traditions. The main proprietor a Chinese was living in America for many years but one night he dreamt that Mother Kali is asking him to come back saying that She resides here so why is he, Her son living so far away (Our tradition that children live with us). He kept getting these visions every night until he finally returned for good. This also cured his undiagnosed depression I think.

Waiting for Dale Philip to start visiting Tamil nadu Karnataka and many states and also trying foods like Soups(Tomato soup, vegetable soup etc), Starters(Gobi 65, Spring roll, Gobi Manchurian, Paneer tikka etc), Chats(Dahi Puri, Pani Puri, Bhel puri, Aloo Tikki, Dahi Papdi chat etc), Main course(Biriyani, Pasta, Momos, Parotta Kurma, Garlic nan etc), Gravies(Paneer Butter Masala gravy, Aloo Gobi masala gravy etc), Milkshake(Chocolate, Butterscotch, Straberry etc), Lassi(Sweet lassi, Mango lassi etc), Tea or coffee, Icecreams and many more! If you come to Tamil Nadu there is a fort called Gingee fort which has three hill forts of Rajagiri Fort(800 feet tall), Ranigiri fort(400 feet tall) and Chandragiri fort(700 feet tall where no visitors visit often and is very risky). Definitely the money is high for foreigners but I truly believe that you will enjoy good views and air but not on Summer season! ❤ From Tamil Nadu 🙂

Even though the MeduWada is deep fried, the oil just stays on outside. The entire wada is made out of sprouted lenntils, which is even healthier than the Idli. 😊

really a beautiful room. The hotel ambassador lady who offer u a room tour such an excellent service. I think the hotel staffs really show professionalism and amazing service. For $180 for this such amazing room really a steal. You cant find it at all for this price if u in NYC at cost you $1000 above. Your friends should've set their social media settings to private if they dont want other people to view their profiles. They can't blame the hotel staff for printing their photos, they made it public themselves. The gift is for them anyways. You really cant control people from checking or viewing your posts/photos if theyre public..it's like you leave it out there in the open, indirectly allowing people to view them.
