I stay in Behala, Kolkata. We had a bustling tram transport until 2007 from Behala. Eventually that got replaced by a metro rail after a chaotic 14 years. I still miss those winter mornings, the smell of fresh kachori and jilipi, hot tea in a clay cup, the *ting ting* of the trams near the depot. It seems like a long lost chapter from my favourite fairy tale now.

Trams are the heritage of Kolkata. They ran at 40 kmph on an average if their routes are cleared whereas buses travel around 18-20 kmph on an average. So,it's very convenient to use trams rather than buses in Kolkata to save time.But this present Govt. is not at all interested in running trams as because it gives them a little profit. So they( Government) is intentionally pulling out the trams from the City citing various problems and consequences. Perhaps they want to acquire the tram depots and wants to run a multi billionaire project from where they can surely earn in billions. Inspite of restoring the National Heritage they are ruining it.Thank you Dale for citing such a lovely heritage of our City of Joy.

I am Indian and living in Germany my German friend and me always watch your videos during eating our food or while relaxing. We never commented we usually like or just simply watch like most of the normal persons do. Today we felt bit bad because we saw and discussed that you are a nice person but today it was so bad to see you taking that manual ride.
