One tip I would give with painting is to get the primer tinted with the paint color you will be using. The paint store will do this at no cost, but you can also do it yourself. Another option is to purchase white primer and gray primer and use the gray primer anywhere that will be painted a darker color. Also, in a kitchen, bathroom, or any room with a lot of moisture, I always have them add a packet of the anti mold stuff when they mix my paint color. You can also add it yourself. It comes in a little packet similar to the packets they give you with mayonnaise, mustard, or ketchup. I used to paint professionally, and these are a couple of easy tips that make a big difference.

I used to paint professionally, and it was a very good choice to use a water-based primer to avoid yellowing. Often, people skip priming, but primer is so very important. It's cheaper than paint, and if you prime well, you won't need as many coats of paint. I also completely agree that painting is the best investment. You get the most bang for your buck. There's nothing else that makes such a huge impact without a huge investment. When someone is on a really tight budget and painting is the only thing they can do, it is so worth it! The key is researching and following directions & recommendations. It's all about the prep. This is a fantastic video, and your renovation is truly stunning. I am impressed and inspired!

Such a great video, thanks Jade! Wanted to mention, there are often tool libraries in many places that you can borrow the tools you need instead of buying them all. :)

You should paint the silver shower surround black to make it tie into the windows. It will also make up look more updated

Thankyou Jade for inspiring me. I love the feature wall in the main bedroom best and I'm going to do it in my new (old) home. I also love the laundry. The subway tiles with black grout give a wow factor. Painting all the trim in gloss white instantly transformed the whole space. Just amazing 🤩

It's so funny to me the different words. You say the house was tennanted for 10 years, we would say rented. You call it a tin of paint, and we say can. For the most part, I love the Australian and British words that are used. I think they sound better, and they typically make more sense. We call places designated for parking a parking lot, the British call it a car park. We call the sport where you kick a ball around soccer. Most countries call it football, which makes way more sense! The sport we call football barely involves feet. Something like armball or tackle ball would make way more sense. Sometimes, the American word makes more sense, like vacation vs. holiday. How do you know when it's a holiday if that term is used for vacations? Another one is gas vs. petrol. Does anyone put petroleum in their car? I just find the differences so intriguing and really fun to learn.

This is amazing. I want you to come to my house and tell me what to do. Did you sand all the doors and wood before you primed or is your primer and paint sufficient? Love love this make over. You did everything with ease. I like blueish tones, your greens turned out great. Thanks for sharing.

You mentioned staging, so are you selling or renting again? That seems quite a bit to sink into a rental but Im no landlord so 🤔😂❤️
@phoearwenien4355Күн бұрын
I guess depending on how much rent costs. If 2k then she will be even in 8 months. If 1k, she will be still even after a year. I don't live in Australia so it's hard to say, but it's a big house. And the renovation will last for another 10 years.
