Definitely hope theyre divided (and the light is left on for them) next time, I don't need to see proof that "they can survive left alone" I'd rather see little fishes and watch em grow, even if it's just to be sold or alike.

Next time they breed, you could just split the tank with a plastic mesh. You got the length 👍 the parents can still watch over the fry and practice with some help. And you can set some tape on the lightswitch so you dont forget.

If, by chance, it happens again, I suggest plugging in a small led desk lamp near one end of the tank, so you don't have to worry about those habits in the future.

If you can grab the parents before they spit out the fry it will be easy to transfer to an isolated tank and let parents raise the fry. I had geophagus red head tapajos and was able to get the parents in their own tank and just let them raise the fry until the were big enough and put the parents back in the main tank. I ended up raising over 75 fry from that one batch.

I’m not at all. Usually parents eat the eggs 3-5 times before the hatch. Then eat the fry a few times until they get it right. The point of this video was how important ambient lighting is.

if it wasntl the lighting tthey likely died off from lack of food, you've gotta feed them pretty intensivley in the first few days. microworms/bbs in a small tank you'll have great results. if the parents suffer heavy losses early on the lose interest

Timing was off. It's sad, but it's nature doing nature things, and as unfortunate as it may be sometimes and to look back at how you could do things differently, this is how you learn things. Mom was doing her thing, it was working at first and you had other things going on. Not your fault. As someone who will stay up all night researching and messing around with ways to help my tanks, fish, snails, etc if something is off, even I'm not upset with you so I'm glad you aren't beating yourself up. Good luck next week! And good luck with the next fry if they try again. $15,000 would be a nice little thank you for taking care of us, Joey from them 😂

do fish not have night vision ?
@kasperkjrsgaard1447
@kasperkjrsgaard1447 Ай бұрын
I guess they must have out in the wild 🤷🏼‍♂️ No, obviously the don’t need any dimmer light. In the wild it’s pitch dark in the night and they manage to raise fryes, so naturrally they can and will raise fry in the aquariums. It’s only naturral too, that the first couple of egg laying is eaten by the parent fish, and it’s probably what happened here too.
@jonathankool1997
