Couldn't believe my eyes when I saw him out of the tank again, but I knew what had to be done. The next day I got to work finishing this build. I'm really pleased with how the background turned out and I'm excited to show you what else I have in the works with it. I hope you all enjoy this one and have a great weekend SerpaSquad!

Looks nice Tanner good to see you move towards concrete. My brother did his countertops with the buddy Rhodes system it's good stuff. May I suggest a plant that grows FL. To AK. Eleocharis palustris as a pond guy you probably have seen it. It can be pruned if it gets too tall and makes a dense root mat that Sampson would no doubt love to dig through. You could even rinse the root ball and replant when a substrate change is needed.

Was he perhaps looking for a mate tho? It's something pet owners to consider when and while keeping those pets. When I pick a pet, I try and keep in mind as mating is natural behavior and having access to it may be important for well being. Thus I go for community species of frogs that can mate peacefully and that excessive eggs can be culled/used as feeders for other pets (I don't like that part) 😬

I love how animal focused these are. It’s not hard to make something that looks pretty, but to make it look good while meeting an animal’s needs and thinking of their potential desires and lifespan etc. That’s what makes these magic.

Big man Sam suddenly doesn't look so big. What a great scape. Sure it COULD be a little more brown but there's also plenty of watering holes that look just like this too. I think it looks great and I'm loving how much he contrasts with his background. Makes him the most obvious feature in the tank, as he rightly deserves to be. Also I got a kick out of the dramatic re-enactments. Those were hilarious.

Many years ago as a child, I encountered an African Bullfrog (I'm from South Africa) I was warned that it could bite my fingers off, then dared to catch it. Fearfully I caught it and didn't get bit. I'm sure they don't have finger snacks, but can imagine they have a painful bite. You were bit twice. Haha Very nice setup you have for Samson, so many featuers I want to watch him interact with. The way you were talking about him like 'He sucks so much, and I love him' made me giggle quite a few times.

You made a glorious job of this and reusing stuff was great. Your little mate will be so happy in his new environment and it’s made me reassess my garden pond for the frogs….

That concrete was a great choice! Even before painting it looked like rocks and mud

Whoa! It came out great! Seemed to match the natural habitat look like you were going for. Glad you found a good alternative over foam for the scaping! I hope Sam is happy with the upgrade!

I never thought I'd see one of these enclosures made with the artistic attention to detail one would give to a diorama. Amazing work!
