# 15.3 - Kayaking on the Krutynia trail - DAY 3 - Babięta → Spychowo - 12 km (02/07/2019)

DAY 3 (July 1, 2019)
We started the last day of the kayaking trip with a warm meal at the Babięta riverside hostel, and then we went on a tour. After only one kilometer, we found ourselves at the power plant installed in the former water mill, where we had to carry our kayaks across the road to continue the trip. In the next part of the trail, the river current (Babięcka Struga) accelerated, and shoals and stones appeared in places. Influencing Lake Zyzdrój Wielki, the weather started to deteriorate significantly - it got cloudy, the wind picked up and it started to rain. For this reason we made it to the shore and waited out the worst period. Next we entered lake Zyzdrój Mały, at the end of which, at the dike with the structure of the Lalka lock, we had another kayak portage, this time a bit more difficult. We also took a bath in the lake on site. Unfortunately, we were caught in the rain again that day, which delayed us significantly. Fortunately, this happened before we ventured out into the open, so we had a place to hide. We swam along the Spychowska Struga for the last two kilometers. Slightly tired from three days of rowing, but happy, we got to the PTTK Spychowo riverside hostel. We all enjoyed the trip and we intend to take part in such an event again in the future. We will have fond memories of influencing the logs and maneuvering the canoes in narrow streams alongside other people. That day, we swam about 12 km, and the total was about 38 km.
