Please don't create such drama and mystery. The simple fact is this: Once ISRO observed excess drift between the satellites during a post-visibility phase, it needed time to analyse the anomolous behavior and recalibrate it's actions. As a part of that, ISRO seems to have decided to test, pause and analyse every step before taking the next one. That's why it pulled back the satellites to a safe distance after achieving a 3 meter Intersatellite Distance. Please remember that as the satellites get closer and closer, the need for precision increases and margin for error reduces. So it makes sense for ISRO to capture data at every step, analyse it and refine the next step if required. To achieve successful docking, the relative velocity needed is 1 centimeter per second or less. It also requires less than 1 degree of error in alignment between the docking interfaces. Now, all this takes some doing! Maximum caution is required both for success and for learning.

China hold a world record of fastest docking ever. It docked cargo spacecraft with space station in just 2 h and 7 min. China is king of automatic docking. America and Russia are not near of China. It has been 14 days for Indian spacecrafts in space but docking process is not complete till date. Very Poor technology.
