From the beginning of its existence, Branišov belonged to the command of the Order of the Teutonic Knights in Vižín. There, the Order had its command and the church of the order. After 1230, Branišov with the mill and the court of Genoa were bought by Queen Kunhuta, the wife of King Přemysl Ottakar I, and later Branišov became the property of the monastery in Warm.
The monastery had the baroque church of St. Blaze built in the valley, which replaced the old pilgrimage chapel. The mill was then called Chapel Mill or Branišovský chapel mill - Branischauer cappel Mühle.

Object history
The original smaller parish Gothic church was probably built at the beginning of the 14th century in the now defunct medieval village of Janovec, sometimes called Janov, which was located in the place of today's pond about a kilometer northeast of the village of Branišov (Branischau). In 1322, Janovec bought the local manor house from Abraham from Sychlice and his son Harant for 210 marks of heavy Prague groschen from the Premonstratensian monastery in Teplá. According to the annals of the Tepel monastery, a parish church stood here since 1320, and the villages of Bezděkov, Branišov, Nežichov and Třebouň belonged to it at that time.
However, during the Hussite Wars, the Genoese dock yard completely fell into disrepair and was probably abandoned. In 1476, abbot Zikmund of the Premonstratensian monastery in Teplá subsequently had the devastated courtyard along with the monastery village demolished and a pond, originally called Janowec, and from 1878 Kapellenteich, was established in its place.
In the years 1732-1733, Tepelsky abbot Raimund III. probably on the site of the defunct medieval Gothic church on the artificial terrace above the bank of the pond, a new building of the baroque pilgrimage church of St. Blaze. According to the church accounts, 5 gold were paid to the carpenter and carver Johann David Schmidt from Lokte and 80 gold to the bell-caster Johann Perner from Pilsen for a new bell. In 1734, the new branch church of St. Blessed Abbot Raimund III. solemnly ordained. Church of St. Blažeje belonged to the parish of Vižín, which at that time included the villages and villages of Dřevohryzy, Dobrá Voda, Prachomety, Nežichov, Bezděkov, Branišov, Žernovník, Domky u Nového mlýna, Nový dvůr, the Kapellenhaus house, the Sonnenberg houses and eight mills on the Úterské brook .
Festive services were held in the church four times a year, and the place gradually became a popular and frequently visited pilgrimage site. For example, in 1880, six services were celebrated here in a single day. However, local festive pilgrimages did not take place on the feast of St. Blaise, which is celebrated in February, but in the summer on the third Sunday after the All Souls' Day, i.e. at the turn of June and July. An unusual number of shopkeepers always came to the region for the pilgrimage, who never missed this opportunity. According to the opinion of historian Franz Klement from 1882, the local pilgrimage could only be compared with the pilgrimage to Švamberka, held on the feast of St. Mary Magdalene on July 22, which, of course, had the character of a worldwide pilgrimage. In 1890, the abbot of Tepel, Alfred Ambros Clementso, had the church renovated.
In June 1957, on Thursday, the Feast of Corpus Christi, the church completely burned down after being struck by lightning, according to other reports, it was even deliberately set on fire. However, despite the proximity of the neighboring pond, the fire could not be extinguished. After the fire, the destroyed church was abandoned and never repaired. Only the perimeter masonry up to the original height with a disturbed crown cornice and the enclosures of the collapsed vaults have been preserved from the church. After the fire, the last two houses near the church were also abandoned, and today they are partially demolished. At the end of the 20th century, the ruins of the former pilgrimage church of St. Blažeje from the property of the Premonstratensian monastery in Teplá to the ownership of the city of Toužim, which then donated it to the Bishopric of Pilsen. On March 25, 1999, the ruins of the church of St. Blažeje is listed on the state list of cultural monuments under reg. No. 49842/4-5155.
