You should mention 's-Hertogenbosch. The city from 1192AC, once the main business hub in The Netherlands and for centuries a fortified stronghold known as the "swamp dragon" with the most bars and restaurants and where you can take boat tours UNDERNEATH the city and the biggest and most beautiful Cathedral in The Netherlands. Nearby, in the town of Vught (about 5km), there as a Jewish memorial because in WWII there was a Concentration Camp. You can cycle to that memorial and around that area are many routs (through natural dunes and pine trees) where there are even (semi-)wild horses, old farms, tine towns and forest. 's-Hertogenbosch (means the forest of the Duke), is easy reachable about 1 hour+ from Amsterdam by train and is highly recommended for expats/tourists that tend to stay around the Amsterdam area.

We only love Amsterdam. Why must we go somewhere else? We didn’t fly 9 hours to see ‘s-Hertogenbosch. 😂

@@mafaldaboers Hiëronymus Bosch lived and worked here all his life. His work (15thcentury) is absolutely flabbergasting. He truly is one of the world's greatest painters. I hope you will look for his art !

Good to see you've been around at least part of the Netherlands. Some suggestions are Zeeland (Goes or Middelburg maybe), Delft (although I expect you know this one), Some of the smaller places in Friesland (Franeker for example) or Oirschot (near Eindhoven). I agree on your opinion about Utrecht. I'm not really a city person myself, but Utrecht has something special about it. Not too much tourism yet. Good to hear a bit more than the standard locations and opinions about them.

Hi, thank you for your comment! I have been wanting to visit Zeeland for some time, for sure next year when the day-light is longer again and I can enjoy more the nature there :) I had never heard about Franeker neither Oirschot, so thank you for your recommendations!

Really informative and very well composed insight of recommodations for getting to know the country, even for the Dutch themselves. While still many places and nature are not commonly visited or even known by many of us. So much early history still available to see and walk through, where-ever you travel in the Netherlands! Best video about the country I've seen on u-tube. 🌹

South west of Noord-Brabant is also worth visiting, like Breda and Oudenbosch. (A small village that has the copy of the Saint Peter in Rome and the place that served as the back-up station for Houston if there were issues during the moon landing)

Probably not the first one to mention this; But it is kind a funny that you ended up in the Netherlands in regards to your last name! If it is your last name, in Portugese you would probaly pronounce it different.....but still. Anyway really enjoy your video's! They are very, very thoroughly. And I like it that you just say the Dutch words the way you think they are pronounced. Athough I kind a think you wouldn't get very near to the Veluwe, with your way of saying it;] Please dont take that as an offence but as a compliment. You are doing it, where others only think of it.

Hi thank you for your comment! Boers isn't a Portuguese last name, but rather a Dutch one! Quite common I hear :) I'm happy that you like the video and I try to do my best when pronouncing Dutch words. I know it's not perfect for now... But I will get there :)

Unfortunately, you missed Spakenburg. That is an old fishing village on the old Zuiderzee. Now Center Parks have the Eemhof. What we have to look at. Oh yeah. The newest province of the Netherlands. So now we are in almost all markets in the Netherlands, Northern Belgium and West Germany, just across the border. t'Stoepje. And 340 fish stalls. La Plase or something is also from Spakenburg.

I think, it was a very good video. Actually, I started living in The Hague, then Amsterdam and since 2018 Maastricht, just the opposite direction, just turned that way, without planning. I think, people who love the sea and the beach really much The Hague will be great, also Rotterdam is nearby for more of a "city feeling" with great architecture. Amsterdam has of course the many canals, many museums and the nearby international airport hub, which is cool. Maastricht has by far the best food culture, the center is somewhat over-touristic, but much more cultural diversity and choice of "things-to-do" in the area than any other Dutch city.

You also have the windmill in Bunschoten-Spakenburg. Bunschoten is where the farmers lived and Spakenburg is where the fishermen lived. My mother was born in Eemdijk. And me and my twin brother grew up there from the hospital. Then I moved to Bunschoten and now I have lived in beautiful Spakenburg for 25 years. In a fisherman's house from 1925. These 4 villages are. Bunschoten Spakenburg, Eemdijk and Zevenhuizen.
