I was looking for phrases and found mainly words Great video thanks Did not know about merci While touring I found to try Serbian first and if that did not work Russian - these came across as poorly pronounced Bulgarian. Loved Bulgaria hoping to return their again next year.

I’m fascinated that the L in thank you sounds like the w in English, somewhat like Polish. But in other words it sounds more like the standard L sound. I’m looking forward to my first visit to your country in a few weeks!

Most of this words are simillar or same like in Croatian or Serbian but "Blagodarya vi" is different because we use "Hvala/Hvala" for thank you, everything else was pretty understandable.
@SixStringViolence Жыл бұрын
But you know the words that are included in Благодаря/Blagodarja - Blago (also the name Blagoj) for pleasure and the word Dar - gift. So literally it means gifting pleasure.
@stipe3124 Жыл бұрын
@@SixStringViolence Blago in Croatian means at least few things Blago = Tressure Blago = Mild, something not strong Blago = Domestic animals, archaic word Blago tebi = Good for you

@@stipe3124 ''Hvala'' also exist in Bulgarian, but it's used as greeting of achievement, some people may pronounce it as ''Fala'' like Macedonian since sometimes ''hv'' is replaced with ''f'' in speech. Sadly nowadays Bulgarians often replace it with ''evala'' which means ''Glory to Allah'' and most people don't know what it means. ''Evala'' is short form of Evallah.
@HeroManNick1329 ай бұрын
@@stipe3124 Also unlike Ex-Yugoslavia you use hvala for informal and formal situations we like Macedonian have forms for formal and informal: MK: Blagodaram ti - informal used with 1 person that you know. Blagodaram vi - formal used or with 2 or more people. Fala - informal with friends, relatives or close people in Bulgarian it's the same: Blagodarja ti Blagodarja vi Mersi - (Yes, we adopted that word for French instead of using hvala but we also borrowed ''ciao'' from Italian as well so yeah and we write it as ''čao.'')

It's not many people that do the nodding and head-shaking the traditional way. When you speak to older people you need to pay attention to it though.

Bulgarian Is a lovely language which Is akin to Serbian and Slovenian. Izvinite in Serbian. Oprostite in Slovenian Na Zdravje in Slovenian Bolnicata is bolnišnica in Slovenian, bolnica in Serbian. Thanks for these délicious words!
@JustforFun132a.k.aNickjackHeroАй бұрын
''болницата'' (bolnicata) is the hospital. ''болница'' (bolnica) is the same as Serbian. You forget that Bulgarian has definite articles which other Slavic languages lack. The closest that Serbian to definite articles is ''та болница/ta bolnica'' to ''болницата/bolnicata'' in Bulgarian. Bulgarian also has ''извинете/простете'' (izvinete/prostete), while ''извините/простите'' (izvinite/prostite) is used bit differently. Although ''опростете'' (oprostete) in Bulgarian means ''to simplify'' and ''опростите'' (oprostite) is used differently as well. ''На здраве'' (Na zdrave) without J is here, since Bulgarian lacks of ''je'' in native words (only in foreign words/names is used).

''Хвала'' (Hvala) does exist in Bulgarian but it's used as achievement which sadly is replaced by the foreign ''евала/evala'' by most people which comes from Arabic and it means ''Greetings to Allah'' without most people know the true meaning of it.
