15 GRAPHICALLY INSANE PS5 Games That Use Unreal Engine 5

Epic’s most recent version of their technological 3D powerhouse is raising the bar for photorealistic visuals, tactile surface detail, immersive illumination, facial animation, and gorgeous environments. It feels a long time coming given PlayStation 5 is almost into its fourth year since release, but the games on this rundown all look truly next generation.
Graphical impressiveness is the primary factor behind the game’s included in this feature, and whilst there are numerous titles being developed in Unreal Engine 5 that haven’t been included, those that have showcase the 3D creation tool’s potential perfectly - from ultra-realistic landscapes rendered almost near indistinguishable to real life due to innovative virtualised geometry systems and photogrammetry to scarily lifelike facial animation captured via UE5’s motion technology.

The elusive Unreal engine 5....greatest engine ever made for cinematic game trailers... :)))) Same trailers for the past 3 or 4 years. This console generation is a big disappointment, at least until now.

Honestly it’s been like this every gen. UE puts out some tech demos late in the gen, and we don’t see it come to fruition until late gen or the next gen. Also, long gone are the 2-3 year dev cycles (we don’t get sequels nevermind trilogies in a single gen anymore). We’re ar 5 years on average. And considering UE5 dev kits didn’t officially release until like maybe 2 years ago, we still have a wait yet before we see the first games to use it. Nevermind the first games to master it which will come even later. Finally, I’m not sure what the hardware can actually handle. We’re at the level of diminishing returns as it is, and since we’re coming off the PS4 Pro and One X, the jump was always going to be much smaller and more incremental as we enter this gen. Along with the ‘covid delays’ causing the 2 year games drought at the start, and the longer dev times. But the consoles can barely handle top end UE4 games this gen. The hope is UE5 streamlines a lot of the visual enhancements, but some of the games shown here I can’t even imagine running on current gen hardware without noticable downgrades. But, as usual, we won’t really see what the consoles can do until late gen. And with the much longer dev times, it may be into next gen before we get games on the regular that look noticably better. Right now devs are adding a lot more world detail, better lighting, and people are demanding 60 fps on top of it. Which is another huge issue. If you care about better looking games, we can’t have 60 fps. It is too expensive. So the push for framerate on consoles is going to determine how much visuals evolve more than anything this gen. Even if half of the above games look even close to what was shown here, zero of them are hitting 60 on console. And with recent outrage and lost sales for 30 fps titles, wouldn’t surprise me if devs drop visuals to try and hit that target more often. But, the fact that we have so much added world detail, better lighting and textures, seamless loading, and especially at 60 fps. This is a significant jump over last gen already. But if you only care about visuals I can see why it would feel lackluster if you’re still expecting a generational leap each gen in visuals. But that visual leap, even at 30 fps, never happens at the start of the gen anyway. Compare games from the beginning of the PS4 era to a PS5 game, and we’ve come a long way. You’re just not going to get as significant a leap as you would going from say, PS2 to PS3 or something anymore for all the reasons above. Moreso because PS2 also focused more on 60 fps. So the jump to PS3 focusing on both visuals more with a 30 fps cap gave it a huge boost in fidelity. We’re going the opposite this gen and 60 fps will absolutely hold back visuals more than anything.

The better the graphics, the more it stands out when environment is non-interactive, non-destructible, and is just a nice texture on invisible smooth walls that you character is sliding against. No engine can replace the talent and dedication of studios, see the example of the game "Control".

It would save me from having to fast forward just to skip past stuff I'm not interested in. I still watched the video but chapters would have made it more convenient and I certainly appreciate the content creators who add them in videos where they are applicable.

Hi, I can respect good graphics as much as anyone. But everyday somebody uploads a video saying graphics don't matter. This debate is so muddy. We mix up fidelity, art style, art direction, graphical style & graphics. Hell we use all 5 terms interchangeably. What i'm getting at is we can't keep blaming developers for pushing graphics. Nobody made anyone at GamingBolt make this video. And everyday people upload videos exactly like this one. We hate remakes. Until its a game we want to play. We want studios to experiment. Exoprimal is pretty experimental, nobody's playing it? I mean barely anyone even reviewed it. We demand devs answer our questions. Then ignore the answer. We call developers liars all the time. We hate day 1 patches, bugs, 70 dollar, & always online games. While assuming we've got answers to every question. How many of us actually look up why any of those things exist? Everything we want to know exists online. Don't believe me. Just search youtube & google. You can find endless people saying everything i've mentioned. We want everything. Yet have no idea what we want. Then hate everything we've got once we get it. Seriously, how do we not understand why gaming discourse is toxic?

Problem with unreal 5 on consoles so far only runs at 30fpa if they can't get frame rate up switch back to 4 I rather play game at 60fps lower graphics then 30fps higher

15 games to avoid until a year of patches and performance optimization. UE is at the Forefront of seizure inducing stutter innovation. Don't belive the hype there are UE4 games over a year old that still have serious problems.

I know what you mean, especially with wukong, no idea when that will release, the game seems to get pushed back every year, but at least 3 games that use this engine have release dates for this year, immortals of Aveum, these other two aren't mentioned in the video, but they are atlas fallen and fort solis, and the latest layers of fear also uses this engine

Except for the few AAA studio games and WU . Most of them look really bad also graphically . It’s like they are superficially pretty but going in depth they just look kinda off . Proof that not just anyone can take a game engine even as powerful as this and make something good .
