I got my new x6 two weeks ago....I met with the BMW Genius to go over some obvious functions. But, day by day, I found settings that needed to be changed or annoying features that needed to be turned off. Then, I found your channel....THANK YOU so much for each video of Hidden Features and Annoying Features. I was able to change what needed to be changed, for me.....and I also learned how to set up features I didn't even know this car had. I watch every video that comes out.

@@BeamerView I have a question about the Nav on the X6. I used it for the first time and found that with the stereo on at the same time as the Nav...it's hard to hear the Nav voice instructions because the stereo doesn't pause. I have to turn the stereo complete off, by turning the volume all the way down (as there is no radio "off") in order to hear the Nav directions . I checked all the settings and it seems there is no way to hear the Nav voice directions, only, when the stereo is on at the same time. Is there a video for this?

@@ahedovu I’ve done this in a previous Bmw and I do believe the best way to do t is when it is speaking as say, for example, about to tell you, the next turn, turn up the volume as the voice of speaking, and it should control the volume of the voice.

@@BeamerView yes, but if the stereo is on at the same time the Nav voice is talking...when you turn the volume up or down the stereo sound and Nav voice stay in sync, so it's a mash up of sound. The only way I have found to hear the Nav voice is to completely turn the stereo volume off...on my Lexus, when the Nav system would voice directions, the stereo sound stopped, so you could hear the Nav.

@@BeamerView Found it...Settings/Sound/Volume Reduction/High...the stereo volume will be lowered to hear other audio sounds, like the GPS

I was watching the whole video but I haven't found any really hidden command. This is all pretty much self-explanatory. You can literally call any car function using voice recognition software. I think this is super convenient. I wish you could tell something that look like real Easter egg, for example activate a certain mode that doesn't exists in the manual. Anyway, thank you for your videos. They have contributed to my decision to buy BMW. Cheers from Boston!

Agreed they are not easter eggs per say, but I wrote it that way so people would actually take the time to watch the video since the majority do not read the manual and should know about all these commands, to make their life more easy going =) Glad you're going for the BMW. Another cool trick i found is you can tell it to open or close any window. You can tell it to do so half way or even a quarter of the way. Hey bmw open the passenger window a quarter of the way.

I own the X5 model year 2020. iDrive 7. The window voice command can be used only to roll the windows down - it will not roll the windows back up. Go figure.

Not sure if this is already in here but: You can tell your BMW “I’m cold” and it will adjust the temp and turn on your heated seats. It will also work for “I’m hot”

Have an M50 coming but got delayed til next year. Funny enough, on my 2016 328ix, I accidently discovered the hold voice button, for Google assistant even on the much older iDrive.

Great video - Except for climate control the system must already be on or in Auto mode, it won't turn "on" ac or heat if it's not already active - even though my 2001 Acura TSX voice control could do it so its not that useful in my 2022 330e. Also, it knows which mic is hearing your voice thats why it said "setting driver temp to 75". I learned this in my car, sync must be enabled first to control both temps (driver & pass) with audio.

Hi I greatly appreciate your videos . I just got my X1 2023 space silver with XLine and premium package it was after having my car at home that I noticed that my side view mirror dont have the highest glossy finished with aluminum trim most videos I have seem and even when I build one the exact way photos show that glossy finish could this be mistake in the production and how could I address this with bmw and get them replaced? Thank you form your help and hope to see your reply, also after I saw my window sticker at my house notice that I got charged twice for the heated seat and steering 550 that should have been included in the premium package for 4200.00 who should I contact about that ?

Contact the dealer about getting charged twice, I'm not sure what happened there but make sure you do it sooner rather than later because things can get tricky after you've had a vehicle for a while. In terms of the side mirror finish. I do know BMW changing the type of finish sometimes on the side mirrors and grille to make it more of a matte like finish. This is done to reduce fingerprints and what not. This I would also bring up to the dealer, and maybe their production manager would know about any part changes that could've happened.

You can also change the wake word of your car so instead of saying "hey BMW" you can give your car a name or something more interesting like "hey b**ch!'

When I’ve tried it it would only do it for the drivers side. Try saying passenger, I haven’t tried it yet but I do believe it doesn’t work

You would need to say hey google in order to get it to work. Try repairing the phone to the car if you have to, and also test it by holding down the mic button to see if it's setup via that way.

If you have an iPhone you can still access Siri without even having CarPlay in the system. I had Siri connection on my 2014 i3.

I want to say for the newer vehicles you should be able to open the sunroof, but you cannot use voice command to close any of the windows for safety reasons.

Unfortunately not. But, I do believe if you have your climate control SYNCED it’ll adjust the temperate everywhere the same.

Great Q. If the vehicle has enhanced bluetooth, which I haven't tried on the new OS8 yet, you can connect multiple phones, but only one can be set to apple carplay / AA. If you go into the page where you can manage mobile devices, if you go into settings, you can set which phone you prefer to be the top priority, this does the trick!

I've tried to ask it to play a particular track or artist and it fails miserably. It keeps saying either: "It's connected to no source" (to command "Play Music") or to command Play XXXXX artist or XXXXX track it will just keep saying "Please request a genre, track, artist, etc" and it can't understand it and it keeps repeating it over and over and over. That would be am extremely useful voice command and I can't get it to work.

What years your bmw? Works kinda different for each one. I have mine connected with allle CarPlay and Spotify and works fine. This is for 2019+ voice commands.

@@BeamerView 2022. Siri will do it but not the BMW assistant. I wish I could get Siri to play songs ONLY from my song library but it plays songs from Apple Music that I don’t want to hear UNLESS I ask for a specific song.

@@BeamerView I will not renew for 100 a year so my car can do something my phone does for free. This map feature is the only thing of real value in connect drive and this grift from BMW is probably the only reason I wouldn't get another. All the other voice commands work when the subscription cancels, but you can't tell it to go to taco bell anymore. I will not pay 10 a month for that. Ever. I will put an after market Android computer in before I pay them the extortion money.

Far as I know English is the only language it’ll speak out. You can change the language of wording in Idrive but not voice I believe. Accent is not bad actually. Better performance than other brands for sure.
