I actually am a criminal investigator with the US government. The pay is far higher than the median listed in this video and the benefits are pretty good too. What isn’t stated is that you will work long hard hours (60+ a week), travel a lot, and no matter how hard you work you won’t be wealthy from the pay alone. I decided to funnel as much of my pay as possible into real estate and I was able to get wealthy that way.

The get-a-degree/get-a-good-paying-job-with-benefits business model is dead. The generations who worked it are all on Social Security living on $950/mo. now and spending that on over priced, denatured food, over priced medications, operations & more medication, reverse mortgages & dilapidated cars.

@MakeWay4CJ

@@bluedogviking00 No, I'm talking about people who "wasted" their time. I'm talking about people like my sister and I, who researched our major well before we leaped into it and resulted in making a starting salary of 72K and 67k respectively. I'm talking about people like my aunt who did the same thing - only she went for her MBA and went from making 85k to 102k. And that same sister who pulled a loan to get her MBA? She ended up going from 72K to $110k with a signing bonus of 20k. Also, because we all did our research in advance and picked sound majors FIRST AND because we went out of our way to learn how to pay it down (how to drop our principal balances FAST or pulling personal loans with less interest and then paying THAT off instead), we can safely say that none of us (nor many of the people we know) feel that we've "wasted our time". So yeah.... THOSE are the people I'm taking about. Hope that clears things up!

you are incorrect in regards to the powerplant substation sector. where solar generation is replacing traditional forms of generation i.e. hydro, cogen, nuclear. the need for substation and transmission journeyman is increasing. even solar needs to be transmitted across power lines to the local utilities for distrbution
