Still a couple games down the road, but as a gopher fan, week 4 at Michigan State is a huge crossover division game for both teams and I think it will be a hell of a game, sparty always tough, respect.

Thorne is going to get exposed this year if he keeps throwing jump balls up like that against teams who turn and actually track the ball. It's effective when you do it here and there, but when it becomes predictable like today good teams are going to scout that and be ready.

I think you're talking about the back shoulder throws. They are not jump balls. They are intentionally underthrown balls designed to beat press man coverage. You call these only against corners who are playing a particular technique, ones who mirror the receiver's movements, and don't look back at the ball, which almost nobody ever does when playing press man.

@@seangarner2687 yeah I get that it's supposed to be an answer to press. But often for them it's a spray and pray on a third or fourth down to draw pass interference and you can't expect to get those all the time. You can't do it as much as michigan state does and expect the better teams to not adjust and start making plays on the ball either. Its pretty well established now that on third or fourth down and 4 or less yards you can expect michigan state to throw a shot like this at you. You catch western michigan panicking in those situations where a savy veteran corner will recognize the situation from film even before the snap and look to ball hawk on that reciever especially since you know 95% of the time its going to reed or Coleman. Further, 2 of those throws tonight came right down the middle of the field and not faded to the outside shoulder-bad throws by thorne that got bailed out by corner panicking and not looking at the ball when he had a chance to and instead interfered when the reciever literally stopped and had to come back for the ball. Thorne has a tendency to spray and pray especially with Reed when he's gone through progressions and nothings there even in double coverage. Now that teams don't have to worry about boxing at the line so much without walkers potency teams will disguise coverage and drop coverage after lining in man to make plays. Thorne has to be more discriminant with these types of throws is all I'm saying because they aren't always going to go your way and can swing a game for better or worse.

Trust me you are using the wrong team as a gage for where you stand. Look at how many teams hung in there with State last year and trust me this year every team has a chance against State. The big takeaway I see is the OLine needs to give Thorne more protection since it seems when the Defense brings Pressure he's either running (although I like his Dual Threat Ability) or not giving enough time to get rid of it but besides that just some early season rust gives use a idea of what needs to get fixed plus I liked what I've seen from guys like Jalen Berger Daniel Barker Germine Bernard and Aaron Brule

@@martinmartins7703 Wisconsin and Penn State are going to get absolutely smashed by that MSU front seven. Those offensive lines are awful, especially Penn State who’s are inexperienced and were not even in the program for 2-3 years. Last year with experience was 96# in sacks allowed and was in the bottom half of the worst run games. At Purdue they only produced 3 yards a carry for over 30 carries. That’s uhhh not good. The defense also got a lot worse, warned people about how much of a mistake Manny Diaz is. And Wisconsin doesn’t even have talented skill positions that could even move the ball on MSU, they missed their only chance with Caleb Williams. Won’t even know what to do on offense when MSU shuts down the run. Maryland is going to get beat down just like Iowa did to them. Joke of a program and coaching staff. Minnesota’s turnover in personnel is too much for them. Washington we’ll see, they COULD pose trouble, but Coach Tucker will have them ready. Ohio State and Michigan are the best potential losses. Ohio State had better get that offensive line sorted out and the wide receivers. They aren’t anywhere near Wilson and Olave level like advertised

@@dariusdoolittle2024 I will believe smashing Wisconsin's o line when I watch it. Wisconsin's running back is very talented and the receivers are unproven just as Msu's secondary is unproven. Penn State doesn't have a good o line but their defense is stout, Clifford is a very tough guy and it's on the road. Road games are always tough in the Big Ten. OSU is always ready by midseason. The only blip the past few years is getting paved (sigh) by that other team up north.

@@martinmartins7703 Wisconsin’s offensive line is not great at all, especially in pass protection. Haven’t been able to run well against stout defensive lines, which is MSU. And when Allen isn’t moving, it’s not good. The talent around MSU is much better than Wisconsin’s receivers. And the MSU receivers are too fast and talent for Wisconsin’s defensive backs. Penn State’s defense was stout under DC Brent Fry, DC Manny Diaz, it’s not at all stout. The pass rush was non existent, the linebackers were mediocre at best, no real structure in scheme.
